The exteriors for "Colby Enterprises" were shot at the First Interstate Tower in Los Angeles. Exteriors for Zach Power's headquarters were shot at the nearby Bank of America Building. First Interstate and BofA were powerful rivals at the time, just as were the fictional denizens of the buildings.

The show was heavily mocked in the press during its run, and even the show's stars were publicly critical of it. Barbara Stanwyck famously called it "vulgar", "garbage", and "a turkey", and Stephanie Beacham referred to it as "Cobblers" ("a load of cobblers" being a British phrase meaning nonsense or rubbish).
