Since viewing this at its original TV slot the performance has niggled at me to see it again! Chance has it that I got dragged to a school performance by the 6th form final years. I was dreading it, but was fully won over and have followed the play since (even read it). I have seen other versions, but the performance by Jacobi really stirred me (he has that great skill to be truly sincere in what he does and I felt his pain).
OK so the set is truly basic at times, but it seemed to take nothing away from the performance.
