Sex & Nudity

  • A woman takes her shirt off early in the movie where her bra is shown, however it cuts quickly and you don't see anything.
  • Some kissing early in the movie
  • A nude female corpse is seen dancing.
  • In almost a parody of the tree scene from the original, a tree ties a girl up and tears holes in her clothes, along with her left nipple being see-through when the tree pulls her shirt. However, unlike the original, she is dragged away into the woods and nothing else happens.
  • There's a completely nude female possessed that comes out of the ground very visible genitalia area is visible.

Violence & Gore

  • Although not nearly as extreme as the 1981 original, there is still quite a few gory scenes. Most of the effects look pretty outdated, and overall the gore is very slapstick in nature, and is not meant to be taken seriously at all.
  • Extremely over-the-top: like the first movie but more for comedic purposes.
  • Blood and black goo erupts from holes in the walls and covers Ash with it.
  • A girl encounters a tree with a demonic face. The roots of the tree tie her up, and drag her off into the woods.
  • A Deadite's head is crushed with a cellar door, causing an eyeball to pop out and fly into a woman's mouth. She immediately screams and spits it out. No blood is shown, and the scene is actually hilarious.
  • Ash uses a chainsaw to cut a giant creature, black goo pours out of the gash.
  • A girl accidentally stabs a man with an ancient dagger thinking he is a Deadite; he initially survives, but then dies later on.
  • A girl is stabbed in the back with an ancient dagger by a Deadite's severed hand.
  • Two Deadites have their heads blown up with a shotgun; a bloated corpse, and a bat monster. In both scenes the blood appears orangish-yellow from the lighting.
  • A man is pulled into a cellar and devoured by a deadite. An absolutely massive amount of blood sprays from the cellar as his legs are twitching. Blood practically floods the room.
  • A monstrous Deadite has its arms chopped off, and is then decapitated. The limbs are seen flying through the air, and the head falls to the ground, twitching along with the body. Overall it's pretty comical looking.
  • A Deadite is hacked to pieces with an axe; green slime is seen splattering all over the place.
  • A man's severed hand crawls around by itself. The hand is then shot, and blood is seen leaking through a hole in the wall.

Profanity

  • Hardly any swearing
  • 5 uses of F##k at least one s-word, and more mild swearing.
  • A man's severed hand shows its middle finger as it taunts him

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Aside from Ash mentioning champagne (which doesn't really count), there's no drinking or drugs.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The faces of the Deadites contort and become monster-like. Although rather comical, this could scare some viewers.
  • There are TONS of jumpscares throughout the whole movie.
  • In one famous scene, a bunch of inanimate objects (a mounted deer head, a desk lamp, light bulbs, kitchen utensils, books, a grandfather clock, etc.) start laughing maniacally out of nowhere at the same time before Ash laughs along with them. Although it's darkly comedic, the surreal and chaotic nature of the scene maybe unsettling for some.
  • While it's to be a very dark comedy movie, this film has the same creepy and unsettling vibe of the first film.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A man's hand becomes possessed after being bitten by a Deadite. It punches him, throws plates at him, and thrashes him around. The man pins his hand to the ground, and then cuts it off with a chainsaw. Blood splashes all over his face in a comedic manner. It is one of the most famous scenes from the movie.
  • A woman's decapitated; no blood but her dismembered head is shown. Her head is later placed onto a rotten skeleton and twirls around like a ballerina. Following the nightmare sequence, her head lands in Ash's lap and bites his hand, gripping onto it until she gets locked into a vice. Her dismembered body eventually races into the workshed with a chainsaw, which gets struck and the active weapon lands onto her stump - black blood spews and splatters onto Ash and her face. After her headless corpse collapses, Ash confiscates the chainsaw taking her arm off in the process and utterly chainsaws her head in half (which is only seen in silhouette) as red blood sprays onto a door nearby and also covers up a lightbulb.
