At the end of 2023, it was announced that Chuck E. Cheese would be ditching their trademark animatronics, which allegedly had absolutely nothing to do with the massive success of "Five Nights at Freddy's," a franchise about playful animatronics coming to life possessed by the souls and corpses of dead children. Fans of subpar pizza, cheap novelty prizes, ball pits with unknown horrors at the bottom of the vinyl, and arcade games that are always coated in a layer of sticky kid slime worried that this marked the end of Charles Entertainment Cheese's empire.
But according to a recent newsbreak from The Hollywood Reporter, it certainly sounds like the corporation that gave us similarly brilliant ideas like "Putting Pasqually's Pizza on DoorDash and UberEats during the quarantine era of the pandemic so people don't realize they're ordering Chuck E. Cheese birthday party pizza" is getting into the reality game show business.

Why does Santa get to have all the killer fun? On the 5th day of Creepmas, we’re saluting Santa’s greatest helper, but with a horror twist. These four movies, and one TV series, highlight how the not-so-human holiday fixture sometimes prefers to spread holiday fear to a lethal degree. There’s something magical about pint-sized supernatural creatures, even more so when they get the spotlight over Old St. Nick. Appearances are deceiving; these elves mean murder.
The 12 Days of Creepmas continues on Bloody Disgusting, this time with 5 killer elves!
Keep track of the 12 Days of Creepmas here.

During the season finale of “Big Brother 25,” perennial host Julie Chen Moonves made a big announcement about an upcoming spin-off series. “Get ready for a brand new show from the ‘Big Brother’ universe. It’s called ‘Big Brother Reindeer Games,'” teased the Chen-Bot. “It’s a new game and a new set of rules, as legendary ‘Bb’ players return to compete to be the last one standing. Six action-packed holiday-themed episodes with special appearances from ‘Bb’ favorites — Jordan Lloyd, Derek Xiao and Tiffany Mitchell — as Santa’s Elves.”
Surprisingly, the “Big Brother Reindeer Games” cast members will not live in the “Bb” house and will not vote each other out. Instead, everything will be centered about competitions. In other words, get ready to hear “Let’s go!” a lot. All six episodes will be pre-taped prior to its debut on December 11, which means there will be no live shows and no live feeds.

Yet another Yeti movie… will this be as abominable as the rest? I joke of course. This abominable-monster-movie is actually anything but; in fact it’s a pretty decent, if low budget, entry into the killer Yeti sub-genre. A genre which has already given us Abominable in 2006, a film that some say is the peak of this particular horror genre; yet one that has been mined a myriad of times over the years – to varying degrees of success. From the 50s and The Abominable Snowman to more recent films like 2008’s Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon.

While nearly every Santa Claus-centric movie concerns the potential loss of Christmas, arguably the fear of missing the holiday is most keenly felt in 2020. Netflix’s The Christmas Chronicles (the 2018 film that kicked off this jolly old franchise) indeed tapped into that when it starred two kids learning to believe in Santa, or else; and Chris Columbus’ The Christmas Chronicles 2 strikes at the source of Yuletide cheer again with a plot to destroy Santa’s Village at the North Pole. But what could be the root cause that’s so extreme as to endanger the entire magical foundation of Christmas for the foreseeable future? Apparently, teenage angst.
Kate Pierce (Darby Camp) is a sulky teen spending Christmas 2020 in Cancún—and, clearly, an alternate universe. While there she bemoans the lack of snow and her mom Claire (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) bringing along new boyfriend Bob, plus his son Jack (The...

The first trailer for Abominable has been released today. No, not the animated flick from last year that kids could go see. This is a low-budget, bloody B-movie featuring a crazed yeti wanting a group of people to “Get Off My Mountain!!!”
The promo opens with an old man running for his life in the snowy woods. In a stunning development, though, he doesn’t make it and is dragged away, leaving behind a plant which is supposed to clue us in on its importance to the “story.”
Speaking of which, Abominable follows a team whose mission is to retrieve a rare plant that can progress medical research by centuries. But of course it can. The group discovers clues of what happened to the previous expedition and instead of leaving immediately, they press on and are picked off one by one by a dude in a suit. The tagline reads:...

Kevin Hart is the subject of an upcoming Netflix documentary series “Don’t F–k This Up,” the comedian announced Tuesday.
Per Netflix, the six-part series “gives unprecedented access” into Hart’s life throughout the past year. “Tapping into the trials and tribulations of what it means to be a father, a partner, a role-model, and a business-man, Hart reflects on the events that have shaped his life, making him into the person he is today.”
Featuring interviews with Hart’s friends and family as well as archival footage from his early career, the documentary will cover Hart’s day-to-day life in the period following the fallout of his Oscars hosting controversy.

In my unofficial quest to watch every single Christmas horror movie ever released, I have started early this year with a few films. Evil Elves (to be released as just Elves in the Us in December) is the latest of my festive viewings for Nerdly.
And this is actually a sequel to a movie I have yet to see, simply titled The Elf. As far as I could tell, it doesn’t matter that I have so far missed out on the first one. Maybe surprisingly, the story doesn’t actually involve a whole lot of elves killing people. There’s kind of (not really) a bit of that, also some possession and even a Krampus killing people.
Unfortunately this doesn’t add up to as entertaining a film as it might sound.

While we may already be a few months past the Christmas season, that doesn’t mean there aren’t still plenty of gifts to unwrap in the recent book Yuletide Terror: Christmas Horror on Film and Television, which features essays and interviews from an authoritative collective of writers who dig deep into everything we love about festive frights and seasonal scares. There are definitely several expected titles featured in Yuletide Terror, like Black Christmas and Silent Night, Deadly Night, but there are quite a few surprising topics that are included here as well that I really enjoyed because I knew little to nothing about them, resulting in a reading experience that was highly enjoyable and informative to boot.
Yuletide Terror starts off with the proverbial one-two punch of essays on the two aforementioned Christmas-themed horror films (I’d argue that both Bob Clark’s original Black Christmas and Silent Night,...

Throughout the month of December, we will be highlighting a film a day that has some tie into the holiday somehow. Some titles will be obvious, others won’t be. Some films will be good and, again, others won’t be. However, we think all titles are worth your time whether to give you chills inside your home or to make you drink more eggnog until you puke laughing.
Kirsten (Julie Austin) and her two friends meet in the woods for the inaugural meeting of the Sisters of Anti-Christmas. The holiday is over commercialized and insincere, plus they got lame gifts last year and it doesn’t look like it’ll snow this year. As far as real problems, Kirsten’s home life is a mess. Her dad is dead, her mom (Deanna Lund) hates her with a fiery passion, little brother is a pervert and Grandpa might be a Nazi.

Every year during the Halloween season, I make a point of searching out at least one horror movie that I've never seen before. This year I started going through some horror movies from the 1980s, and as you might expect, a lot of them look like ridiculous yet entertaining flicks. Since Halloween is coming up, I thought it would be fun to make a list of some of these movies that I came across that I have never heard of before and ones that maybe you haven't seen before either. I included a short synopsis, poster, and trailer for each one. Make sure you watch the trailer because some of them are sure to make you laugh. I love these kinds of films!
Alone In the Dark - 1982

One horror flick that has me curious is Gary Jones' Bunyan, a reimagining of the tall tale of titanic lumberjack Paul Bunyan that brings his legend to bloody life as a 15-foot giant maniac with a very large ax. Producer Jeff Miller was kind enough to send over some news stills from the movie and word of a new cast member who's no stranger to forests.
Dan Haggerty, best known as TV's "Grizzly Adams" but forever in the heart of schlock movie fans like myself for his portrayal of a chain-smoking department store Santa battling an evil Nazi elf in the bad movie classic Elves, has joined the cast of Bunyan.
Here's the latest press release regarding the ongoing filming of Bunyan:
"Bunyan, the new horror/creature film from director Gary Jones and producer Jeff Miller, filmed for several more days in Ohio this fall.

Few things inspire true Wtf-ness quite like Elves, the 1990 chiller starring a chain-smoking Dan Haggerty as an alcoholic ex-cop turned department store Santa trying to prevent Neo-Nazis from completing their diabolical plan to spawn a satanic elf that must mate with a purebred Aryan virgin by Christmas Eve in order to procreate Adolf Hitler's half-human/half-elf master race that will conquer the world.
I'm not making any of this up.
Not a comedy or even a tongue-in-cheek horror flick, i>Elves takes itself awfully seriously for a motion picture involving the occult, the Antichrist, incest, Neo-Nazis with fake German accents, a Mommy Dearest that drowns pets in the toilet, a perverted kid brother who peeps on his sister as she dresses, a virgin girl wielding a magical elfstone, Dan Haggerty chain smoking so much he even brushes his teeth with a cigarette in his other hand, and a horny,...

Tales from the Crypt
Joan Collins, was your career really that bad before Dynasty? Starring in horrific B-Movies like Empire of the Ants and Tales from the Crypt? One vignette in particular, And All Through the House, stars Joan Collins as a devious wife hell-bent on getting away with murder on Christmas Eve. When she hears that there is an escaped convict running around hacking people up with an ax, she makes good use of it by trying to frame the killer for her husband's death! Oh no, you mean, ironically, the real killer actually does make his way to her home, where she has to defend herself?...
