Storyline

As soon as they meet Ari and Sam get into a pretty passionate - and combustible - relationship. Indeed, the scenes of their rendezvous often seem reminiscent of the Chicago Fire. But the course of true flaming lust never runs true, and as they try to handle their all-consuming passion their two best friends endlessly meet to compare notes on developments. Ari claims Sir Isaac Newton discovered gravity when he was hit in the head in 1692 by a 'Red Delicious', an apple variety that did not exist in 17th century England and would not exist for another 200 years until the cultivar was recognized and named in 1892 in Iowa, U.S.A. 'Red Delicious' is actually a retronym for the 'Delicious' apple, the 'Red Delicious' name wouldn't come into usage until 1914 when Stark Nursery introduced it's 'Golden Delicious' apple to differentiate between the two.. Oddly appealing
28 April 2001 | by wazaari39See all my reviews

Pyrates is the kind of movie that would never be considered for an award. But it is not as bad as I expected. The concept is unusual, and the humor warped enough to keep you entertained. Yes, there are some slow spots but there are some extremely funny routines as well and overall it is oddly appealing. Definitely worth a check at the rental video shop.
