Storyline

Eric is a photographer who lives back East. He is invited by his friend Danny to visit him in California. Before meeting Eric, Danny steals a million dollars from Carl, a drug dealer, who is also Eric's old partner. It seems that Eric and Carl had a parting of the ways when Eric's brother died of an overdose and Carl wasn't sympathetic. Now Danny's killed before he could tell anyone where the money is, so Carl tells Eric that he has to find it for him or else. And Eric is also trying to get reacquainted with Julie his old girlfriend, who is now involved with Carl. And Eric really doesn't know where Danny hid the money, so what's he going to do. Goofs

Dennis Hopper's character gets shot in the left arm by a high-powered rifle--regardless, he is still able to have a fist fight with the much younger and stronger Michael Pare character. The wound also appears to stop bleeding and appears to be just a tear in his suit jacket during the fight. See more »

passable B movie thriller
22 November 2000 | by Dr.XSee all my reviews

This is not a great film or even a good film, you won't get that here. However, it's definitely worth a look on a slow night if better options aren't available. It's a standard "guy with a troubled past tries to make good and outwit the bad guys so he can build a life with his beautiful ex" B movie plot. There's a gratuitous sex scene thrown in with Tracy Tweed, though I personally was far more taken with Daphne Ashbrook. It's fun to see Adam Ant play the role of a hood who's not very bright. Dennis Hopper was okay as usual, though his role as "generic rich menacing criminal" didn't give him much to work with. Michael Pare contributes his customary second-tier action star charm.
