“The music video episodes are our main episode where we showcase the best queens from that season,” says production designer Gianna Costa. After winning an Emmy last year for Season 14’s music video episode “Catwalk”, Costa is nominated again this year for “Blame it on the Edit”, which is ideal for someone who grew up watching music videos on MTV. “My favorite part of the music video episodes is getting to look back at all these music videos I love.”
“Blame it on the Edit” features the final four drag queens of Season 15—Sasha Colby, Anetra, Mistress Isabelle Brooks and Luxx Noir London—performing a remix of RuPaul’s titular song. Each queen performs their own verse on the set of a spaceship. “It was very different from the rest of the season, but it was still in the Drag Race world.”

In the run up to a performance with her new band Jensen, songwriter Georgia finds herself wrestling with her sense of self as she takes the place of the band’s original lead singer. Director Chloe Sarbib’s knack for crafting heartfelt, tender stories is on display once more in music drama Jensen. We previously spoke with Sarbib about her shorts Girl Friend and Go Tell Your Fathers, two films which see characters confronting turbulent emotional times and Jensen is another tale in similar territory. What’s impressive, however, about Sarbib’s direction across these films is how she adapts her approach stylistically to the story she’s telling. In Jensen, she does this through a series of deliberate compositions that reflect her protagonist Georgia’s fractured headspace inside the confined walls of the dressing room she’s preparing in. Dn is delighted to premiere Jensen alongside a deep dive...

Everyone has to start somewhere and exactly where that place may be is often of pretty dubious quality or (at the very least) rather surprising for some of today’s biggest names in the film industry. For example, we all know Jennifer Aniston had her start with Leprechaun, a film she’d probably rather forget (although we think it’s a lot of fun). Now, with current streaming services pulling all kinds of older films and television shows into their libraries, fans can get the chance to see some of those questionable choices that most likely were made to pay the bills. Here are a few of our favorites:
Elisabeth Moss in Surburban Commando (1991)
While not her very first credit, this is the Mad Men & Handmaid’s Tale star’s first feature film and it’s a doozy. For anyone not familiar with it, it’s an action comedy starring...

Who will win “RuPaul’s Drag Race 14“? After the double eliminations of DeJa Skye and Jorgeous, only five queens remained in the running to win the crown on Friday night. In a series first, no one was eliminated in the penultimate episode, which meant the Final 5 queens (not Final 4) would compete in the finale: Willow Pill, Lady Camden, Bosco, Angeria Paris VanMicheals and Daya Betty. Willow has been Gold Derby’s predicted winner for several weeks in a row, with Lady Camden nipping at her heels. Do you agree or disagree with your fellow “Drag Race” fans?
Here’s a look at the current Top 5 winner predictions ahead of the April 22 finale on VH1:
1. Willow Pill — 11/20
2. Lady Camden — 47/20
3. Bosco — 30/1
4. Angeria Paris VanMicheals — 52/1
5. Daya Betty — 100/1

In recent years there has been a sudden rise in popularity of the comedy format known as a roast. There is in fact a whole series on Comedy Central that is solely made up of this structure with one-off specials that have appeared on many different channels over the past couple of years and you only need to spend a few minutes with young people for them to mention them “roasting” one another. There have been many roast challenges in Drag Race and last week we saw the first-ever one with the designated victim for the night being none other than the hilarious Ross Matthew. The challenge led to the ever-surprising announcement of a three-way lip-sync where it was guaranteed by Ru Paul that two queens would be going home. It was in fact the “villain” of the season Daya Betty who emerged victoriously and toppled the two so-called lip-sync assassins of season fourteen,...

In episode 13 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 14, RuPaul Charles put the queens to the comedy test in the annual roast challenge. The jokes Daya Betty, DeJa Skye and Jorgeous dropped about Ross Mathews weren’t good enough to keep them from a threeway lipsync where only one of them would make it out alive. Once again, Daya was able to put some lipsync assassins in their place, sending both DeJa and Jorgeous home.
This week, the final five write and perform their own lyrics to a remix of Ru’s new single “Catwalk.” This penultimate challenge in the season is their ultimate test of charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent and will show Ru, Ross and the other judges who is ready to fight for the crown in the finale.

The end is almost here! We're only two weeks away from crowning America's Next Drag Superstar.
On RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 14, this marked the final round for the queens in the studio phase. It's their last chance to show the judges what they're bringing to the table before the finale.
Did the queens set the stage on fire? Did the right queens make it to the finale? This round hinged on it.
"Catwalk" followed the same formula as in past seasons, like on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 14.
The music video Maxi Challenge is the big closing number that puts all their skills to the test. Dance, lyrics, runway, and sometimes acting are needed to shine and secure that final spot.
It's a tough challenge, but the judges are more lenient when the season nears the end. They're much more about praising and rewarding the queens for their journey.

Balmain, Escada, Lanvin: Three houses remained by the time Legendary‘s Season 1 finale began Thursday. And what an atypical reality-competition finale it was — thanks to Covid-19 precautions, the competitors catwalked, spun and dipped to an empty hall, with only the judges to watch and determine their fate. (At least we know it’ll be back for Season 2!)
A title card at the top of the episode explained that in early March, as the first cases of the novel coronavirus were reported in New York City, the show’s producers decided to film the final ball without an audience. The theme: The Heaven and Hell Ball.

The writer-director's debut feature is set in the world of the American porn industry and will star Sofia Kappel in the lead role. Ninja Thyberg's Pleasure, a Swedish-Dutch-French co-production, is one of the titles selected for this year's Cannes label (see the news). The movie, previously known as Jessica, is the writer-director's debut feature. Before working on Pleasure, Thyberg won the Canal+ Award with a short of the same title, which competed in the Cannes Critics' Week back in 2013 and was invited to Sundance in 2014. The same year, her short Hot Chicks won the 1km Film Award at Stockholm, and she was the recipient of the Student Visionary Award at Tribeca for her short Catwalk in 2015. The story, penned by the director herself in tandem with Peter Modestij (6A), revolves around Bella, a young and ambitious 20-year-old girl who travels from Sweden to Los Angeles to become...
The Hush storyline by Jeph Loeb, Jim Lee, and Scott Williams was a smash sales success because it safely followed the Loeb formula of a 12-issue mystery that enveloped every major member of the rogues’ gallery. First, there was the Holiday killed and the making of Two-Face and here we have the new threat of Hush which connects to young Bruce Wayne’s childhood.
To fit this into the connected Animated Universe, Batman: Hush, out now from Warner Home Entertainment, a host of changes had to be made. The one that did not need alteration is the one that entirely spoils the final third of the 82-minute film.
I’ve not been fond of veteran animation writer Ernie Altbacker’s previous forays into the Dcau, but this contains some of his finest moments. Coupled with above-average source material and fine character designs, this is one of the stronger-looking films in a while.

Sure, the women of the Real Housewives franchises know how to flip a table, but that’s not a true catfight.
A true catfight is dozens of perfectly primped felines battling for the title of Canada’s top cat by schlepping to different curling clubs across the cold country to be fawned over by a rotating cast of judges in cardigans.
This is also the subject matter of Catwalk: Tales from the Cat Show Circuit, a Markham Street Films documentary that is now streaming on Netflix and has recently been discovered by the people of Twitter.
