One of the best-sounding music documentaries/concert movies
The movie about saxophone veteran Maceo Parker, a long-time creative collaborator of James Brown and the P.Funk collective (George Clinton / Parliament / Funkadelic / Bootsy's Rubber Band), clearly is a labor of love. German director Markus Gruber presents the highlights of two terrific concerts in Hamburg/Germany (best described by Mr Parker's motto: "98 percent funk, 2 percent jazz!"), plus interviews with Maceo and various well-known colleagues (including George "Dr. Funkenstein" Clinton). Extra efforts were taken in order to achieve great sound quality. Required watching for fans of '60s and '70s funk music!
