“We need to the control the narrative,” famously declared Kendall Roy in HBO’s Succession.
Across four seasons, the neurotic “eldest boy” of the Roy clan anxiously struggled for power; scheming and manipulating, only to watch one convoluted effort to conquer his father’s company Waystar fall apart, while Kendall’s reputation collapsed.
The Blake Lively vs. Justin Baldoni feud over their time making It Ends With Us — which swaps out the fictional Waystar for Baldoni’s real-life production company Wayfarer — is a Hollywood drama where every character looks increasingly like Kendall Roy.
Have you read the lawsuits instead of just the press coverage?
If you only read Lively’s 80-page complaint, you’ll be convinced Baldoni is a fake feminist who made grossly inappropriate comments to his co-star, forced her into sexually compromising scenarios without consent, and then stealthily ordered a successful social media campaign to smear Lively for speaking out.

Late last year, The Young and the Restless alum Loren Lott reprised her role as Devon’s sister, Ana, at his wedding to Abby. While seeing her back on the CBS soap was great, it’s even better to discover what she has going on outside the daytime world. Lott recently updated her social media followers on her latest career move.
Jackie Brown, Baby!
On Instagram, Lott posted a video in which she told her fans and followers that she would be “playing Jackie Brown in the Tarantino musical in Los Angeles at Cinevita. Ahhhhhhhh,” she screamed. The production pays homage and brings to life characters and music from the roster of movies Quentin Tarantino has made over the years.
The musical also plucks songs from the soundtracks of the Oscar-winning director’s cinematic movie universe, including Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and Jackie Brown.

Tarantino’s Lost Bond Film ( Photo Credit – Flickr )
Quentin Tarantino had his sights on Casino Royale, but the Bond franchise had other ideas. After Pulp Fiction, he pitched a ‘60s-set, one-and-done Bond film. He even approached Ian Fleming’s estate, but the Broccolis shut him down, securing all rights before he could move.
“They had suggested that they still own the rights to Casino Royale,” Tarantino explained. “That’s what I wanted to do after Pulp Fiction… We would have cast an actor and be one and done. So we could do this.”
Unfortunately, the Broccolis were already one step ahead. They saw the potential for outside filmmakers to create competing Bond projects and moved fast. They struck a deal with Fleming’s estate, securing exclusive rights to everything the author had written, including every short story and travel book. “If I want to make a movie of Thrilling Cities,...

Pulp Fiction. The movie that essentially redefined what Hollywood means, came from Quentin Tarantino, who wasn’t a well-known director back in the early ’90s.

But something happened in 1994, which was unprecedented in the world. Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta worked alongside Uma Thurman and Quentin Tarantino to create one of the best films ever made.

Converging and diverging stories of the people in a crime-ridden city, Pulp Fiction delved into the stories of two LA gangsters, a boxer, a gangster’s wife, and two criminals wanting to rob a restaurant.

The storyline was linear and non-linear at times. Naturally, the world fell in love with Pulp Fiction and how this stylized crime drama intertwined the lives of many into one single epic 2-hour 29-minute movie.

Quentin Tarantino knows more about movies than just about anyone else alive. The Pulp Fiction director said cinema ended a few years ago. He made some salient points, even if they were not literally true.
Quentin Tarantino said movies were bad in the late 1990s but they’ve gotten worse
During a 2025 interview with Variety, Tarantino discussed his plan to write a play. He said that if the play became a hit, he would likely turn it into his next and final movie, but if it were a disaster, he would likely abandon any plans for a film adaptation. “That’s a big f****** deal pulling [a play] off, and I don’t know if I can,” he said. “So here we go. That’s a challenge, a genuine challenge, but making movies? Well, what the f*** is a movie now?
“What — something that plays in theaters for a token release for four f****** weeks?...

Harvey Weinstein begged a Manhattan judge to move up his sexual assault retrial on Wednesday morning, with the disgraced film producer pleading he may not be around much longer due to his poor health.
“I’m in a serious emergency situation. I am begging the court to move your date,” Weinstein said, according to media reports.
Judge Curtis Farber set his next court date for April 15, a week earlier than it was first expected to start. But Weinstein said that is not soon enough. “I won’t be there for April,” he insisted.
Weinstein detailed the health issues he has been dealing with during his rare court appearance, including a recent heart surgery, diabetes and a cancer diagnosis. The 72-year-old former producer also urged the judge to delay another trial that is already on the schedule so he can get out of Rikers Island, which he called a “hellhole.”

Quentin Tarantino is making equal space for being a dad and an iconic movie director, he told an audience at the Sundance Film Festival on Monday.
Tarantino flew to Utah from Israel for a single conversation with Elvis Mitchell, the esteemed film critic, academic and host who programmed a weekend of cinema talks on Park City’s Main Street (“The Elvis Suite”), including chats with Bill Murray. Mitchell got down to business right away, asking why Tarantino has retreated into writing over the past few years.

There are only so many directors in the annals of cinema who audiences know by name. Yes, movie buffs can rattle off the names of plenty of filmmakers, from Guillermo del Toro to David Lean and many, many others in between. But for regular audience members, there's only a few who earn the same name recognition of big-deal movie stars. Currently, there may only be four: Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino, and Martin Scorsese. Think all you like about these auteurs, but they've made so many excellent, memorable, iconic films that audiences know their work and their names so well you can just list out their surnames.
However, due to the fact that all of these men continue to make films in the era of review aggregation online, and because there are so many critics from which to select when you visit sites like Metacritic or Rotten Tomatoes, it's...

During the Christmas season of 1997—still hot from Pulp Fiction and a media blitzkrieg that might make a Kardashian blush—Quentin Tarantino dropped the hipster video-clerk attitude and made a “late” movie way ahead of his years. Tarantino was only 34 when Jackie Brown was released, and yet this is a film that’s quite persuasively about the pain and mixed blessings of aging. Correspondingly, Tarantino slowed down his approach to filmmaking, prioritizing lived-in textures over the shock and awe that marks the violence of his earlier work.
The difference in sensibility between Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown can be encapsulated by two respective scenes in cars. In the former, a young man getting his head accidentally splattered against a rear window is treated by Tarantino as comedy. And it is funny, as another display of Tarantino’s brash insistence that moral posturing isn’t a concern of his. Like an...

Donald Trump’s new presidential portrait was unveiled last week, so Seth Meyers promptly gave it a thorough roast on Tuesday night.
The NBC host zeroed in on it almost immediately to kick off his “Late Night” monologue, immediately cracking up at the lighting choices for the image. In case you missed it, Trump’s face is basked in white light, while the rest of the portrait is a bit darker.
“Why is his face lit like that? He looks like he just opened the briefcase from ‘Pulp Fiction,'” Meyers joked.
“He looks like he’s about to tell a ghost story to The Midnight Society,” he continued, putting on his Trump impression for the next bit. “‘I call this one The Tale of the Phantom Immigrant.'”
Elsewhere in his monologue, Meyers poked fun at Trump’s multiple executive orders renaming major landmarks and locations in the U.

In the 1990s, the Muppets began a trend that, sadly, was interrupted. In 1992, the troupe of puppets starred in "The Muppet Christmas Carol," which cast Muppet players as characters in Charles Dickens' immortal Christmas story. The Muppets followed that with the excellent "Muppet Treasure Island" in 1996, which took a similar tack; the Muppets were mere actors putting on their own modern production of a literary classic. This was a clever use of the Muppets, and there was every reason to believe they would continue with high-end literary adaptations.
Sadly, the trend ended in 1999 with the release of the lackluster "Muppets from Space," the troupe's last theatrical feature film for 12 years.
In the intervening span, though, there was one additional visit to the world of literature. In 2005, ABC aired the TV movie "The Muppets' Wizard of Oz," starring Ashanti as Dorothy Gale. Kermit the Frog played the Scarecrow, Gonzo played the Tin Woodman,...

Thanks to her roles in Quentin Tarantino films like Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill, Uma Thurman is nothing short of a Hollywood icon. She's also no stranger to either blockbuster fare or comic book movies after playing the sultry Poison Ivy in 1997's Batman & Robin.
Could a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe be next? According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH, Thurman has had talks with Marvel Studios for an MCU role.
There's no word on who the studio is eyeing her for, but with Avengers: Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars, and the Mutant Saga on the horizon, there are any number of iconic characters Thurman could bring to life on screen.
Talking of possible MCU castings, much has been said this week about the new T'Challa/Black Panther. While a few names have already done the rounds online, we can remove one possible contender from the list: Damson Idris.

Bruce Willis Makes First Public Appearance Almost 2 Years After Acting Retirement In Emotional Video

Bruce Willis recently emerged in his first public appearance after stepping away from acting due to a diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia in early 2022. Best known for his renowned roles in such films as Die Hard (1988), Pulp Fiction (1994), and M. Night Shyamalan's The Sixth Sense (1999), Willis left an undeniable mark on Hollywood with a career spanning over four decades. His retirement came after facing increasing health challenges, culminating in a diagnosis of aphasia, which later progressed to frontotemporal dementia (Ftd).
A video shared via Instagram by Willis' wife, Emma Hemming Willis, shows him speaking, shaking hands, and taking photos with two of the first responders handling the wildfires in Southern California. While Willis hasn’t exclusively stayed out of the public eye since his retirement, the majority of his retirement has been spent in private with his family. Check out the video below:

Samuel L. Jackson’s 2012 Western movie co-star thinks the oft-snubbed actor should have received an Oscar for his performance in the Quentin Tarantino film. The veteran film star seems like he should have a whole trophy-case full of Academy Awards by now, but to date, Jackson has received only one in-competition Oscar nomination, his single trophy coming in 2021 when he received an honorary award for his body of work.
The list of Jackson movies that should have earned him an Oscar, or at least a nomination, is very long indeed. He received his first trip to the nominees' table for 1994’s Pulp Fiction, losing on Oscar night. Jackson has given many other acclaimed performances over the years - in movies like Jungle Fever, Jackie Brown, A Time to Kill, The Caveman’s Valentine, Coach Carter, The Hateful Eight, and others - but those showings did not sway the Academy enough to wrrant even a nomination.

After the collapse of the studio system, when actors were finally given more autonomy regarding their careers and were much more free to choose the types of roles and films they'd appear in, the true test of an actor became what happened when and if they reached megastardom. Some stars love the limelight so much that they try and give their public what it is they think they want to see over and over again, and can find themselves feeling burned out or too typecast in the process. Others become much more reclusive, either outright refusing easy paycheck jobs or being extremely picky about their projects. Then there are those stars who manage to straddle the line between the commercial and artistic sides of their vocation, and are able to spin their newfound clout into a mixture of roles that demonstrate not only their range, but also their creative curiosity.

Did Quentin Tarantino disown Natural Born Killers? (Photo Credit – Facebook/Prime Video)
Quentin Tarantino, one of the biggest names behind the camera in all of Hollywood, is as famous for his directorial masterpieces like Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds as for movies that never saw the light of day as originally envisioned. Recently, Tarantino’s proposed final hurrah, The Movie Critic, joined the caliber of projects that never materialized.
In his formative years, the Reservoir Dogs director had to settle for selling his screenplays to studios and other directors, such as True Romance, which Tony Scott directed. However, this Christian Slater–Patricia Arquette movie — also featuring future Tarantino collaborator Brad Pitt — isn’t even the filmmaker’s most popular runaway couple tale; an honor that belongs to Natural Born Killers, albeit for all the wrong reasons, which even led Tarantino, who originally conceived it, to disown the movie.

You know, in the filmmaking world, there’s a lot of smoke and mirrors. Directors, actors, producers—they all make it look easy, like the magic is happening effortlessly. But behind the scenes, it’s a whole different story. It’s the moments of doubt, hesitation, and vulnerability that often make the biggest impact. Just ask M. Night Shyamalan, whose heart probably skipped a beat when he had to ask Bruce Willis for a retake while filming The Sixth Sense.

During a particularly tense scene, Shyamalan wasn’t happy with how the take turned out. He could’ve stayed silent, let it slide, and hoped it would work in the editing room. Instead, he did something that took a lot of guts—he asked Willis to do that scene again.

Known for his provocative and controversial style, Quentin Tarantino has never shied away from exploring dark, violent, and uncomfortable themes in films like Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs. And it was during the latter that he remained firm about his storytelling approach, even when the disgraced industry mogul Harvey Weinstein warned him about a particular scene.

The 1990s were some of the best years in movie history, with some of the greatest movies of all time coming out in that decade. Iconic directors like Quentin Tarantino, John Singleton, the Wachowskis, Paul Thomas Anderson, Sofia Coppola, and even Wes Anderson made their directorial debuts in the 90s. Films like The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Goodfellas, Toy Story, and Heat all came out in that decade, proving just how incredibly strong it was.

Approaching 30 years since Quentin Tarantino's first masterpiece lost at the 1995 Oscars, it feels like an even worse decision now than ever before. Despite being well received, Pulp Fiction was the first true masterpiece made by Tarantino, and still remains one of the best in his entire filmography.

"The Simpsons" has made many absurd predictions over the years that have actually come true. Such premonitions have led some to believe "The Simpsons" writing staff contains time travelers who are able to see into the future. But that theory doesn't hold up to scrutiny because if that was the case, you'd hope they'd avoid making some problematic jokes that wouldn't age well.
It's natural for TV shows from the 1980s and '90s to have bits that seem crude in retrospect. It's actually kind of a good thing because it shows just how far society has come that making fun of certain groups or ideas is no longer acceptable. Of course, not every joke ages poorly due to political correctness. Sometimes, a show makes a joke about something that makes sense in the moment, but after a couple of years, people forget what it was even supposed to be about.

You know a movie is legendary when, even decades later, its characters are still imprinted on our minds. When you think of Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 crime masterpiece, Pulp Fiction, what flashes before your eyes? The razor-sharp dialogue, the unforgettable dance between Mia and Vincent, or perhaps the sight of Vincent Vega in that iconic black suit, exuding effortless cool?

John Travolta's career-saving comedy movie franchise, which made over $400 million at the box office combined, receives a sequel update from its creator decades later. After rising to fame for his role in the sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter, Travolta burst onto the scene during the 1970s with Saturday Night Fever and Grease, which were both big box office successes that capitulated him into superstardom, with the former also earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. However, the following decade wasn't as successful for Travolta.
During the 1980s, Travolta starred in a series of commercial and critical failures that temporarily tanked his career, such as Two of a Kind and Perfect, the former reuniting him with Grease star Olivia Newton-John. Even the Saturday Night Fever sequel Staying Alive, which was a financial success, was scorned by critics and failed to turn his career around. Travolta's career was eventually saved...

A firearms expert explains why Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta's Pulp Fiction characters do not get shot at the beginning of the movie. Jackson's Jules Winnfield and Travolta's Vincent Vega are among Quentin Tarantino's best characters, an iconic duo in one of the director's most critically acclaimed movies. The IMDb top-250 is a curious portrait of populist taste. The list is, it's worth remembering, culled only from user ratings on the IMDb website, and, judging by the films on the list, the average IMDb user seems to be a college-age white male with a taste for crime, guns, fantasy, and the ultra-masculine. The top movies on the list all seem to be the types of movies that young men would own posters for, proudly displayed on their dorm room walls. There are many unassailable classics, to be sure, and young teens could easily look to the list as a rudimentary introduction to the world of cinema, but the list seems ... skewed. There's not a lot of variety. It's not curated by a single critic, nor even a panel of critics. It's just a general consensus of the taste of the types of people who like to rate movies on IMDb.

When it comes to celebrities, unlikely connections are a frequent occurrence between two people which no fan would ever think of being connected. Yet, when it comes to similar last names, fans are quick to jump to conclusions and declare an ill-founded relationship. And Samuel L. Jackson, the legendary Hollywood actor, and Lamar Jackson, the American professional football player, are two notable names that many believe are connected since they share the same last name.

While Hollywood often rewards charm, good looks, and box-office hits, Tom Cruise’s enduring love from his fans goes beyond the glossy exterior. One of the most defining moments in his career was his bold stance against Harvey Weinstein.

When Todd Field, the director behind Little Children and Tár, found his debut film In the Bedroom at the mercy of Weinstein’s notorious habit of helping filmmakers by hacking up their creations, it was Cruise’s intervention that saved the day. Filmmakers had long feared Weinstein’s heavy hand in editing—changing films so drastically that their original soul often disappeared in the process.
But Cruise didn’t just stand idly by. In fact, his advice was the lifeline that Field and his team needed.

Yellowstone recently got a famous critic: Quentin Tarantino. The famed director recently talked about the Paramount Network drama while appearing on a podcast. However, fans of the series weren’t too happy about his comments.
Quentin Tarantino Talked About Whether Movies Or Television Was Superior
Over the years, Tarantino has become known as an influential director with his own cult following. Some films he’s known for include Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, and the Kill Bill films.
The director recently made an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. While there, whether movies were better than television shows became a topic of discussion.

While pointing out that he often hears people talk about “how great television is now,” Tarantino admitted that “it’s still television to me.” He then began to talk about the neo-Western drama Yellowstone, which has...

At the risk of sounding like Nicole Kidman: We all know the feelings that unite an audience in a movie theater. Yet when I went to see the rereleased “Interstellar,” I was struck by a new feeling. Taking my seat in front of the IMAX screen at the AMC Lincoln Square, I was honestly shocked to see that at a 2:45 p.m. Friday showing of a 10-year-old movie, an incredibly large theater, with dramatic banked seating — the only true IMAX theater in Manhattan — was totally packed.
This was the kickoff of the film’s second weekend. (Last weekend it took in a neat $4.6 million on 165 screens.) And before the movie had even started, it struck me that those of us in the audience were already profoundly united in wanting to reexperience “Interstellar.” There were some, of course, who had never seen it. Yet this was basically a revival...

Should you ever need to give your watchlist some extra oomph, you can't go wrong by referring to IMDb's Top 250 list, which includes some of the best movies that cinema has ever had to offer. The great thing about such a mammoth pile of films is that icons of Hollywood will be popping in more than one entry on the list. Of course, some stars have a greater presence on this compendium than others, and while it might not shock many as to who has the most entries, it's surprising to see who the runner-ups are.
Coming in at the number one spot with the most films in IMDb's Top 250 is the man many believe to be perhaps the best actor ever -- Robert De Niro. Having appeared in over 100 films, nine of De Niro's projects rank among the website's most beloved 250: "The Godfather Part II," "Goodfellas,...

In 1982, 76-year-old Henry Fonda finally won a long-overdue Best Actor Oscar trophy, becoming the oldest Best Actor winner up to that time. His last acting nomination had been in 1941, and he held the record for the longest span between acting nominations until 2023. Judd Hirsch broke Fonda’s 41-year record 41 years after it was set, earning his second supporting nomination for “The Fabelmans” 42 years after his bid for “Ordinary People.” Now, one of his former co-stars could possibly break that record.
Hirsch earned two Best Comedy Actor Emmys for the sitcom “Taxi” (1978-1982). Carol Kane co-starred on the series from 1980-1983, also earning two Emmys, one for lead and one for supporting comedy actress. She is now receiving rave reviews for her role in “Between the Temples,” and might be on track to break the record Hirsch broke two years ago. Kane has already earned the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Supporting Actress,...
