- An old women says to Kevin Costner's character "Stop trying to look through my top to see my nipples". Played for laughs.
- Towards the end of the movie the boys are playing cards in their tree houses. Possibly naked or underwear clad females are visible on the cards however the camera move doesn't linger and is at a slight distance from the cards.
- At the end of the movie the girl say her brother and friends now "Try to pick up babes" in town.

- There are multiple war scenes where shooting and fighting going on. Explosions throughout these scenes. A soldier had to leave his nest friend to die on the battlefield.
- Two men were working in a mine and there was a mining accident where the mine collapsed. There's a scene where a man gets stuck under rocks, and another scene where a rock falls on the other person.
- The dad gets a severe head injury, a rock falls on him, and he dies.
