  • Overall, the violence isn't as intense and there is a less of it than batman the animated series and especially batman beyond.
  • There is violence in the TV series with guns, explosions, fist fights, car chase scenes.
  • Superman gets punched by enemies but he fights back.

Profanity

  • Multiple uses of "god" through the show's run.

  • An adult oriented DC character Lobo appears in a few episodes. However, there is no strong language, gore and sexual content for a family friendly show.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • In the episode Apokalips Now and series finale Legacy, Superman's suit is severely damaged by Darkseid's omega beams and he bleeds from his mouth.
  • Superman gets hit with hypersonic waves and bleeds from his ears and nose.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There are some emotional and sad moments in this series, chief among them being Dan Turping's death at the hands of Darkseid at the end of "Apokolips Now". It comes out of nowhere and is extremely emotional, shocking and depressing, as it then shows the people of Metropolis doing a funeral in Dan's honor and, after they leave, Superman tearfully stands next to Dan's grave while saying that in the end, the world didn't really need a superhero, but rather just a brave one.
