General Hospital spoilers tease that this week’s episodes of the hit ABC soap are filled with irrational outbursts and assumptions.
Sonny (Maurice Benard) has been on a path to self-destruction since learning Nina (Cynthia Watros) was the one who turned in Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Carly (Laura Wright).
That night changed everything, and things may never be the same.
With things in Port Charles in complete disarray following Jason’s (Steve Burton) return, no one knows what is happening around them.
Trust becomes an issue, and Sonny isn’t ready to make nice to anyone he believes betrayed him — including Michael (Chad Duell) and Carly.
Here’s what’s happening this week on General Hospital.
John and Anna have a meeting
Last week, John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) was beaten up pretty severely near Corithos Coffee.

General Hospital (Gh) spoilers note that while actor Maurice Benard may play mob boss Sonny Corinthos on daytime drama, there are very few similarities between him and his character.
Would Sonny ever proclaim himself a Swiftie? Even for the sake of Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears) and Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola)? That’s hard to say; however, Benard recently did, and here’s why.
General Hospital Spoilers – Maurice Benard Admits Being A Fan Of Taylor Swift
As most know, singing sensation Taylor Swift went out on the road in 2023, selling out arenas all across America with her Eras Tour. In 2024, the tour was brought to homes via the streaming service, Disney+.
On top of that, she also happens to have a high-profile romance with Kansas City Chiefs player, and Super Bowl winner, Travis Kelce.
What does all this have to do with soap star Maurice Benard? Well, it seems...

The Friday, March 1 episode of “The Young and the Restless” is shaping up to be a must-see, as teased by actor Brian Gaskill, who is currently appearing on the series as Seth, Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) AA sponsor.

It’s the end of a villainous era for soap star Kimberlin Brown.
Brown’s notorious character Sheila Carter was killed off in Monday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. She no doubt had it coming; Sheila’s been the epitome of evil since her character was first introduced on The Young and the Restless in 1990. She moved over to B&b in 1992 where she’s been wreaking havoc ever since.
The character’s death on Monday was at the hands of Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

Having been off-screen since at least July 2023, “General Hospital” actor Réal Andrews recently took to Instagram to share an update on his status at the daytime drama series, informing fans that it’s up to them as to whether the show will bring him back as Marcus Taggert.
When viewers last saw Taggert, he was on a downward spiral after learning that the daughter he believed to be his was, in fact, someone else’s through a separate relationship Portia (Brook Kerr) had with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). Despite Trina (Tabyana Ali) going through the most in the months since Taggert last appeared on-screen, including the presumed death of her first love, Spencer (Nicholas Chavez), one would think it was time for the character to make his return to the canvas, and possibly play out yet another twist of parental lineage.

The official cause of death for David Gail, 58, the former “Port Charles” and “Beverly Hills, 90210” actor who died last month after being found unresponsive by emergency personnel, has been determined, reports Deadline via a statement released by the late actor’s mother, Mary Painter.
According to a toxicology report, Gail’s cause of death has been determined to be the result of “brain and heart complications following drug intoxication involving amphetamines, cocaine, ethanol and fentanyl,” the outlet reported on Friday. The causing condition was anoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (a brain injury due to lack of blood flow) following resuscitation from cardiopulmonary arrest due to drug intoxication.
Following reports of Gail’s death, TMZ, citing law enforcement, reported that the actor died of a possible drug overdose, with his death under investigation by police, pending toxicology testing. No foul play was suspected.

General Hospital has lost its way, and adding cast members with little to no significance to the current cast has been par for the course.
The cast is so bloated, yet many longtime fan favorites have been on the back burner for so long that what was simmering is probably stuck to the pot.
Over the years, the show has morphed from the hospital drama to being more focused on the mob scene, run by none other than Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Whether viewers want to admit it or not, he has become the face of the show. He is on nearly every day and often is the center of focus for several big storylines on the daytime drama.
However, some of us remember the days of great storylines that happened at the hospital. The nursing staff has dwindled, and the doctors are few and far between these days.

David Gail, best known for his work on Beverly Hills, 90210, and Port Charles, passed away at 58.
News of the beloved actor’s death first broke via Instagram by Peter Ferriero, the Beverly Hills 90210 Show podcast host.
Peter revealed over the weekend that he had just been informed of the scene-stealer’s passing but noted that he was “grateful” to have had the opportunity to chat with him.
Gail is best known to teen drama fans for playing Stuart Carson, the love interest of Shannen Doherty’s Brenda Walsh.
Although he had a recurring role from 1993-94, his character significantly impacted Brenda, and their initial dynamic enthralled fans.
Sadly, the relationship just wasn’t built to last. Teen dramas tend to put their characters through the wringer before they find their endgame love.

There is another face change in Port Charles as actress Nicole Paggi has temporarily replaced Kirsten Storms as Maxie Jones on General Hospital, beginning with the December 27 episode. As first reported by Soap Opera Digest, Paggi will take over the role of Maxie, the eldest daughter of Frisco Jones (Jack Wagner) and Felicia Cummings (Kristina Wagner), who has been a part of the long-running daytime drama since 1993. Storms, who was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 2009, has portrayed the character since 2005. This isn’t the first time the character of Maxie has changed faces. Robyn Richards first portrayed the role from 1993 to 2004 before Storms took over in 2005. In 2011, Storms took extended medical leave, with Jen Lilley temporarily taking on the role. Storms also had temporary absences in 2016, 2017, and 2018, with Molly Burnett frequently stepping in in her place. Paggi is perhaps best known for playing Jennie Bradbury on Mike White‘s critically acclaimed Fox series Pasadena.

There is growing excitement among General Hospital fans as the long-running soap has made a reference that hints at a potential comeback for Jack Wagner‘s iconic character, Frisco Jones. The latest tease came on Tuesday’s (December 19) episode of the ABC daytime drama when Wsb (World Security Bureau) director John Brennan (Charles Mesure) was busted by fellow Wsb agent Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). “You think they’ll invite Frisco back to clean up your mess?” Devane told the villainous Brennan, referencing Wagner’s character, who previously served as the Wsb director. Wagner joined General Hospital as Frisco Jones in 1984 and appeared on the long-running series on and off through 1995. His last appearance in Port Charles came in 2013 for the show’s 50th anniversary, where he tried to rekindle things with his ex-wife, Felicia Scorpio. In that 50th anniversary episode, Scorpio turned down Jones’ advances and chose to stay with her current partner,...

General Hospital fans who watched Eden McCoy take home the Emmy Dec. 15 for Outstanding Younger Performer got quite the jolt Monday when they tuned back into the ABC daytime sudser; McCoy was Mia as character Josslyn Jacks and someone else was appearing in her place.
Turns out it is actress Courtney Fulk filling in for McCoy — a surprise development since Gh didn’t give viewers a heads up that a temporary change was in the works.
But rest assured, followers of Port Charles: a spokesperson for the show says McCoy is on a brief sabbatical and will return at the beginning of the new year.
McCoy’s absence may have something to do with the passing of her mother in early November; Michael Fairman reported that “since Gh is said to tape around six weeks ahead of air, McCoy’s departure would make sense during that time frame.”

At the end of the 20th century, broadcast networks were still giving the green light to daytime dramas, including Port Charles, a half-hour spinoff of ABC’s long-running hit General Hospital. The series, created by Wendy Riche, lasted only six years — Gh has already run ten times as long — but it had made a lasting impression with soap fans by the time it ended two decades ago. The challenge for soap operas in the 1990s was to hook younger viewers when VCRs and cable channels offered them more options than whatever their parents were watching on TV, as the Los Angeles Times reported at the time. And the failures of ABC’s The City, a retooling of the earlier soap Loving, and NBC’s Sunset Beach, a daytime drama from Aaron Spelling, showed how tricky a proposition that was. So ABC pinned its attention and its marketing dollars on a spinoff that would,...
