This soap followed a very popular swedish soap called "Varuhuset". However "Storstad" failed to attract the viewers in the same scale as it succsessor had done. This soap was very different from "Varuhuset", slowly paced and about "real" families and problems. After a while the ratings improved, but by that time, the decision to cancel the show had already been made.
