Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is shot once in the chest with a shotgun and we see his blood splattered shirt as he gasps for air, the shooter grabs a gun and shoots a police officer once the chest (he's wearing a bulletproof vest, but another which one goes through and we see his hand covered with blood) and he gets pulled on a stretcher.
  • A shootout leads to a chase scene between Alonzo and Jake. Alonzo beats up Jake by punching him in the face multiple times, smashing his head through a window and bashing him with a metal stool.
  • Alonzo is violently shot to death by the Russian mafia. We see him get out of his car covered in blood and struggling to stay alive. He is then shot up a thousand times more, blood rapidly sprays from his body we see his bloody corpse laced with bullet holes for a couple of seconds.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • After a seemingly light-hearted and humourous exchange between a group of men sitting together, a man very suddenly and frighteningly shoots another man in the chest on-screen with a shotgun, killing him.
  • The scene where Jake is dragged into the bathtub to be executed by Smiley is extremely tense and hard to watch. However he turns out to be okay after.
  • The main theme of the movie is that a basic beat cop is training to be an undercover/narc agent so he can get promoted quicker and learn the other side of the police department. What he does not realize is that the entire team including the boss take it way over the line blurring the lines of morality (using/selling drugs, embezzling and even killing for pleasure) and using the badge as an excuse to be evil almost.
  • A man is killed execution style at the end of the movie.
