Grandpa Mouse reminisces of how when he was a bootboy..... er, bootmouse in the French Foreign Legion, he defended the fort singlehanded.... er, singlepawed against every Arab in North Africa.
This black and white cartoon has gotten hard to see, probably because of its title, which they undoubtedly came up with by punning on the Warner Brothers hit ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES, and then realized they could make a pretty good P.C. Wren cartoon, That pretty much covers it. If you enjoy Wren's tales of the French Foreign Legion, like BEAU GESTE, you'll find something to chuckle at here.
Bill Thompson, who voices Grandpa is probably better remembered for his voice work as Droopy and Scrooge McDuck.
