A bumblebee opens an orchestra's playing of "The Flight": we see violins, flute, cellos, and bassoon lit so the faces and instruments are visible against a sea of black. Then, the bee takes us into a garden where a woman picks flowers. In comes a mule bearing a boy and man; the man sings and the woman ignores him. Then, she, alone in the garden, sings. She then imagines him with her, dressed in formal wear, in a garden dancing and singing in front of the orchestra. It's light opera: she a soprano, he a tenor. They embrace.
