I like this show (well I used to)

I would watch this how all the time. It was funny, and entertaining, and just a great show. The characters were great and the story-lines were suberb. Then all of the sudden, they started introducing new characters like crazy, and Bear started wearing a blue vest that made him look gay. That's when I stopped watching. If you want to watch Franklin, make sure it's the original episodes.

There is so much better of this kind of thing.

One of the more simpering and sanctimonious cartoons for very small children. The dark shadow of the moral can be spotted a mile away and taints these bland narratives with blander characters.

I don't know if your child will respond to the adventures of Franklin at his school or his friends, but the fact that they're animals doesn't affect anything and there are so much more charming stuff for this target demographic that manage to convey lessons in a more character driven spontaneous way.

Really cute, fun, entertaining, and educational show
Wow! This is a really cute, fun, entertaining, and educational show. I said that because I watch this on Noggin with my 16-month-old nephew from time to time. It's hard to say which show on Noggin is the best. Still it's really cute, fun, entertaining, and educational. If you ask me, the writing is very good, and the animation is excellent. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that the people at Noggin really know how to reach a toddler's developing mind. Now, in conclusion, if you have children, nieces, or nephews, I strongly recommend this really cute, fun, entertaining, and educational show. I guarantee you that they will enjoy it.

An Excellent Show To Grow On
zsofikam17 December 2015
Franklin is an every-turtle who is constantly exploring and discovering his world alongside his family and friends. He and his friends enjoy swimming, playing outdoors, and going to school. You heard that right, they actually enjoy school. Franklin has some great adults in his life such as his parents, his friends' parents, Mr Owl, and other relatives. The kid characters are very cool as well, including Franklin himself, Bear, Beaver, Fox, Goose, Rabbit, Otter, Snail, Badger, Skunk, Raccoon, Mole, Possum, and Moose. The problems and situations in the show are very relatable to a child (they were to me at least). Some of these include wanting a pet, having sleepovers, going to camp, losing teeth, starting school, having a friend move away, getting a new sibling, being afraid to go in the basement etc. Here is a rare show that celebrates the innocence of childhood.

2D = success. 3D = change the channel

The 2d version was the best and main attraction to treehouse next to berenstain bears, blues clues and calliou.

The reboot 3d version was, well it sucked. The characters are to different and jolly that it's sick to my stomach.

Charming TV show (2D series)
ooweegooweehead5 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Franklin is such a charming TV show for young children, and I still watch it as an adult in their 20s because of the nostalgia it has, and the messages and stories still hold up, even though the show premiered 25 years ago. Animation (in the first couple of seasons) is calming and colorful with watercolor-like backgrounds. Voices are pleasant, though the Canadian accents can be heard a bit (Franklin Says Sorry being a good example). Some plots seem quite similar to fellow Treehouse series The Berenstain Bears, but that's probably coincidental due to the fact that both series originated from books and were made for young children.

The addition of Harriet, I feel, was not needed, and took away some of the charm that was a young turtle learning about the world by himself with his family and friends. Though yes, a Franklin book did introduce a new sister for Franklin, The Berenstain Bears also introduced a new sister, Honey, but she didn't appear at all in their show despite it coming out after Honey was introduced. I feel this would've been a better choice to exclude Harriet.

Overall the show is not offensive, there are no crude jokes or toilet humor, the music is lovely, and the morals are good for young children.
