Trivia

In one scene, a seemingly maniacal ICE truck pulls up to a gas station that the brothers have pulled up to. In Duel (1971) (released the same year as the car they were driving; a 1971 Chrysler Newport), a likewise maniacal truck pulls up to our hero (David Mann) and a small billboard for ICE is visible in the background. Goofs

When they first get the CB radio, the antenna switches from the left to the right side of the Newport and back again (the film is flipped). When the antenna is seen on the right side, the rear bumper of the car appears smooth with the prominent dents missing. See more »

Good little chiller
26 March 2002 | by DunnDeeDaGreatSee all my reviews

Joy Ride is a good scary movie. What makes the film scary is the lack of a monster, the villain is a real crazy guy who can easily find you.John Dahl makes the film suspenseful with it's dark tone and swift camera angles and the cast all play their roles effectively. I give it *** out of ****.
