- The film has a theme of domestic violence and there are a few scenes of violence towards women and an implied rape scene.
- A scene were an injured rabbit has its head cut off with a spade. This is a very brief scene and all most of the violence is off screen.

- A character uses a racist term in one scene and says the woman should "black up".
