Irish Catholic couple Sean and Claudia Finnerty live in Staten Island, New York with their three children--Lily, Jimmy, and Henry. They get into all sorts of trouble, usually because of Sean's brother Eddie, who's got connections all over town. Sean and Eddie's father Walt often drops by and shares in the disaster. Most adventures are later recalled and they find out exactly what happened, like when the family car was supposedly stolen, when Sean's credit card was mysteriously maxed out, and even when Sean causes a blackout on Super Bowl Sunday. All this and more, and because Sean and Claudia were young and carefree when they got married and had kids, they are now grounded for life.Written by

The Finnerty family is said to live on Staten Island, but none of the outdoor scenes look at all like Staten Island. See more »
[Finding a box belonging to Eddie]
Is it illegal?
Will it explode and kill us all?
I can personally guarantee that it will not.
[Sean shakes it]
That's not smart.

Just got done watching the 1st episode and I liked it. The mom doesn't have the same presence as Jane K. in Malcolm, but there were plenty of puberty and dysfunctional family jokes to go around. Also, Griffin Frazen (Jimmy) is really cute, he reminds me of a younger Justin Berfield. I give this show a 9 out of 10 stars.
