Quentin Tarantino asked Margot Robbie not to clean her feet for shoot? (Photo Credit – Facebook)

The legendary filmmaker, Quentin Tarantino, specifically told the actress not to wash her feet for a scene in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. The quirky request came during a moment in the 2019 film when her character, Sharon Tate, waltzed into a movie theater, kicked off her go-go boots, and settled in to watch herself on the big screen.

Robbie revealed in an interview with Vogue: “My feet were dirty because I’d been walking around set. They stayed dirty in the movie because Quentin said, ‘Don’t. Don’t clean them.’”

Apparently, Tarantino wanted authenticity—gritty soles and all. When a crew member tried to swoop in and clean things up, the director put his foot down, quite literally. Robbie added: “Someone ran in to do it, and he was like, ‘No, it’s real.

Uma Thurman has been cast as a series regular opposite Michael C. Hall in the new Showtime original series “Dexter: Resurrection,” TheWrap has learned. Clyde Phillips also returns as executive producer and showrunner.

Thurman has been tapped to play Charley, who works as the head of security for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater. She worked as a Special Ops officer and in the world of private security before becoming the right-hand woman for Prater. Of course, the Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee is most known for her work in movies like “Kill Bill,” “Pulp Fiction” and “Hysterical Blindness.”

Hall is set to reprise the titular role of Dexter Morgan, a blood splatter expert who doesn’t just solve murders but also commits them. The actor played Dexter for eight seasons during the show’s original run from 2006-13, followed by “Dexter: New Blood” in 2021 and he currently narrates origin story “Dexter: Original Sin.

Uma Thurman has been cast in “Dexter: Resurrection” at Paramount+ with Showtime, Variety has confirmed.

As previously announced, “Dexter” star Michael C. Hall will reprise the role of the titular serial killer in the series. No specific plot details are available for “Resurrection,” but the series will serve as a direct followup to “Dexter: New Blood.” Additional cast members include David Zayas, James Remar, and Jack Alcott.

Thurman will appear in the series regular role of Charley, described as “the Head of Security for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater. A former Special Ops officer, Charley worked various high-level private security jobs before taking on her position as the resourceful and meticulous right-hand woman for Prater.”

Although Thurman is best known for her feature roles, she was previously nominated for an Emmy for her guest role in the series “Smash” and won a Golden Globe for her work in the HBO film “Hysterical Blindness.

As January wraps up, Hulu is keeping the momentum going with an impressive lineup of new titles next month. Whether you’re into movies, TV shows, or both, there’s plenty to keep you entertained throughout February.

Hulu is starting strong with over 60 new titles arriving on February 1 alone. Some standout additions include Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2, as well as all four seasons of the classic ’90s drama New York Undercover.

Originally intended to be a single film, Quentin Tarantino’s sprawling revenge epic Kill Bill was split into two parts by Miramax for ease of theatrical distribution. Michelle Yeoh is reflecting on Quentin Tarantino‘s impact on her life.

The 62-year-old Wicked actress revealed how the Pulp Fiction director snapped her out of a depression about her action movie career prospects years ago during an interview on The Graham Norton Show.

During the appearance, she shared the story about when she considered stepping beck from action movies.

“I was in Hong Kong and depressed as I had had a bad accident while filming a stunt,” she said.

Quentin Tarantino, one of the biggest names behind the camera in all of Hollywood, is as famous for his directorial masterpieces like Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds as for movies that never saw the light of day as originally envisioned. Recently, Tarantino’s proposed final hurrah, The Movie Critic, joined the caliber of projects that never materialized.

In his formative years, the Reservoir Dogs director had to settle for selling his screenplays to studios and other directors, such as True Romance, which Tony Scott directed. However, this Christian Slater–Patricia Arquette movie — also featuring future Tarantino collaborator Brad Pitt — isn’t even the filmmaker’s most popular runaway couple tale; an honor that belongs to Natural Born Killers, albeit for all the wrong reasons, which even led Tarantino, who originally conceived it, to disown the movie.

His filming experience in John Wick 4 was far safer, considering that he sustained some serious injuries during his stunt in other films.

In particular, Yen recalled that his worst on-set accident happened when he filmed alongside fellow actor Jet Li. Interestingly, Yen was injured twice when he filmed with Li, with the movies taking place a decade apart. In both instances, he got accidentally hit by Li and saw blood coming out of his face.

The work of Quentin Tarantino is decently represented on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format, and after the releases we’re talking about here, there’s only Death Proof, Four Rooms, Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight that are going to be missing.

That’s because at the end of March, we get the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray debuts of Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vol 1 and Kill Bill Vol 2. All three are coming our way courtesy of Lionsgate, and all three now have a UK release date of 31st March 2025.

Denis Villeneuve has revealed what his favorite Quentin Tarantino movie is. Villeneuve broke out in Hollywood many years after Tarantino, but he has since become one of the most acclaimed directors in the world. Denis Villeneuve's best movies include Prisoners, Sicario, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049, and the Dune films. Villeneuve and Tarantino's names have come up together a lot ever since the latter's interesting response to Villeneuve's Dune films.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Villeneuve reveals that Pulp Fiction is his favorite Tarantino movie. Tarantino emerged in Hollywood with his 1992 film Reservoir Dogs. Ever since, he has directed several iconic movies, such as Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Saturday Night Live spoiled its audience with a cameo-packed episode hosted by Martin Short to close out 2024. But if it wasn't for time restrictions, another big-name cameo would have been added to the list.

The cold open kicked things off by officially inducting Short into the Five Timers Club. Tom Hanks, Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Paul Rudd, John Mulaney, Emma Stone, Alec Baldwin, Scarlett Johansson, and Jimmy Fallon all showed up to start the show. The world is full of underrated zombie movies that you really need to see, and when one of them was made by Jim Jarmusch and features a laundry list of Hollywood's finest actors, there's no shame in being doubly intrigued. The movie in question is none other than the 2019 horror comedy "The Dead Don't Die," which is currently seeing plenty of success on Netflix. In fact, the decidedly un-seasonal film is sitting at a very respectable third position on the streaming platform's Top 10 daily most viewed movies as of December 22, 2024 (per FlixPatrol).

In many ways, "The Dead Don't Die" is a perfect movie for the streaming age. A decidedly off-kilter film with a slow pacing and thematic choices that made it difficult for audiences and critics to swallow (as evidenced by its 54 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes), it failed to set the box office ablaze during its original theatrical run.

Saturday Night Live‘s Christmas episode recreated a Christmas classic — with a twist (and a cameo by Lucy Liu).

In a cut-for-time sketch, host Martin Short transformed into the Grinch for a retelling of Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas. The story stayed on track until the Grinch, whose heart grew three sizes, went up the ladder to help Cindy Lou Who put a big star on top of Whoville’s Christmas tree.

However, he dropped it, and one gruesome accident led to another, with the Grinch inadvertently killing Cindy Lou’s parents, among others. Upset, she called upon her sister, Lucy Liu Who.

Channeling her character O-Ren Ishii from Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill, Liu pulled a sword and exacted revenge on the Grinch — Tarantino style.
