Quentin Tarantino asked Margot Robbie not to clean her feet for shoot? (Photo Credit – Facebook)
The legendary filmmaker, Quentin Tarantino, specifically told the actress not to wash her feet for a scene in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. The quirky request came during a moment in the 2019 film when her character, Sharon Tate, waltzed into a movie theater, kicked off her go-go boots, and settled in to watch herself on the big screen.
Robbie revealed in an interview with Vogue: “My feet were dirty because I’d been walking around set. They stayed dirty in the movie because Quentin said, ‘Don’t. Don’t clean them.’”
Apparently, Tarantino wanted authenticity—gritty soles and all. When a crew member tried to swoop in and clean things up, the director put his foot down, quite literally. Robbie added: “Someone ran in to do it, and he was like, ‘No, it’s real.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Dexter: New Blood.
It may have been almost four years now since Michael C. Hall's Dexter Morgan was both figuratively and literally put on ice during the dramatic climax of Dexter: New Blood, but the crime solving serial killer and his namesake franchise have scarcely been more alive. With Paramount+ and Showtime prequel series Dexter: Original Sin already proving a hit with fans and critics alike, production is already underway on Dexter: Resurrections, a present day sequel series set after New Blood's trigger happy ending. And in a major casting coup, none other than Beatrix Kiddo herself, Uma Thurman, has joined the show as a series regular.

Where to begin on part one of one of the greatest films of all time? Quentin Tarantino is a filmmaker with an immense knowledge of cinema; he’s always been a remix artist for me, a film DJ, and that has never been clearer than in Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and 2. (I’ll focus on the second half of Kill Bill in a separate post.) These two films burst with Tarantino’s complete and undying love of the form. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such a love for cinema through another filmmaker’s work. You can feel the undeniable love, the glee, the energy for the media in Kill Bill: Vol. 1. Really, it’s refreshing and inspiring. And in an age more than 20 years after its...

After annihilating a bevy of assassins including Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox), O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu), her Crazy 88s and her advisor Sofie Fatale (Julie Dreyfus) in a veritable tsunami of blood in Kill Bill: Vol. 1, The Bride (Uma Thurman) goes on to the other names on her list. Bud (Michael Madsen), Elle Driver (Daryl Hannah), and the most evil of them all, their leader Bill (David Carradine). Kill Bill: Vol. 2 has more character development and backstory than Vol. 1, though Tarantino did spend a good amount of time on O-Ren Ishii’s past via an animated segment, which no doubt saved the production a few million dollars. For example, both Bud and Bill are brothers and murdering bastards but they have a gentler...

As January wraps up, Hulu is keeping the momentum going with an impressive lineup of new titles next month. Whether you’re into movies, TV shows, or both, there’s plenty to keep you entertained throughout February.
Hulu is starting strong with over 60 new titles arriving on February 1 alone. Some standout additions include Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2, as well as all four seasons of the classic ’90s drama New York Undercover.
Reality TV fans will also have something to look forward to with the season six premiere of The Kardashians.
But as exciting as the new arrivals are, there’s always the bittersweet reality that some beloved titles are leaving. In February, Hulu will only be removing movies, so TV lovers can breathe easy. However, the list of departing films includes some good titles, like Titane (2021) and Spencer (2021), which earned Kristen Stewart an Oscar nomination.

Lucy Liu says there is a huge contrast between the directing styles of Steven Soderbergh and Quentin Tarantino. The 56-year-old actress features in Soderbergh's supernatural horror movie 'Presence' and revealed that his approach behind the camera is the polar opposite to Tarantino – who she worked with on 'Kill Bill'.Speaking to MovieWeb, Liu said: "It's not even apples and oranges. It's like meat and fruit... they're so different."The 'Charlie's Angels' actress plays work-distracted matriarch Rebecca in the haunted house flick but explained how she was given little guidance by the 'Erin Brokovich' director about how to approach the role.Liu recalled: "Steven talked to me, but there was nothing about the project until later in the meeting. Then, later, he sent me the script, but didn't tell me which character (I'd be playing)."He didn't say that he was going to shoot it this way.

Originally intended to be a single film, Quentin Tarantino’s sprawling revenge epic Kill Bill was split into two parts by Miramax for ease of theatrical distribution. But if the bifurcation was imposed on the director, the split nonetheless draws attention to the stark difference in style and tone between each part. With the benefit of hindsight, however, it’s easy to see the division between the films as the line of demarcation separating Tarantino’s early career from his more measured, even mature second phase.
Kill Bill: Vol. 1, released in 2003, represents the aesthetic and tonal pinnacle of Tarantino’s juvenile cinephile side. The Bride (Uma Thurman), a former member of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, is ambushed on her wedding day by the members of her former gang and its ringleader—and the Bride’s ex-lover—Bill (David Carradine), who promptly slaughter the guests and groom and leave the pregnant heroine comatose.

Thanks to her roles in Quentin Tarantino films like Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill, Uma Thurman is nothing short of a Hollywood icon. She's also no stranger to either blockbuster fare or comic book movies after playing the sultry Poison Ivy in 1997's Batman & Robin.
Could a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe be next? According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH, Thurman has had talks with Marvel Studios for an MCU role.
There's no word on who the studio is eyeing her for, but with Avengers: Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars, and the Mutant Saga on the horizon, there are any number of iconic characters Thurman could bring to life on screen.
Talking of possible MCU castings, much has been said this week about the new T'Challa/Black Panther. While a few names have already done the rounds online, we can remove one possible contender from the list: Damson Idris.

Say goodbye to those New Year greetings and memes, because February is almost here. Time to really sink our teeth into 2025 and how it’ll look, and of course that means beefing up your watchlist. As always the libraries of Hulu and Disney+ (and multiple available bundles) are here to help, with new shows and movies (both family friendly and… a little unfriendly) available to stream.
Along with ongoing episodes of “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” Disney+ will debut all of “Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” Season 2 and plenty of other great titles for young viewers. “The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl” special will recapture the magic of a live performance, and “Harlem Ice” follows a girls’ figure skating team through their competitive season.

It is rather difficult to describe “Song of the Bandits”, a wild, exciting mix of historical drama, spectacular actioner, rugged western and comedy. The 2013 British thriller Utopia was one of the very best TV shows of the 2010s, and its cancelation was lamentable. It is a must-watch for thriller fans and anyone seeking some truly original storytelling. It is rare for original TV scripts to bear the hallmarks of such stark originality, but Utopia sprung from an original idea by Huw Kennair-Jones, Mark Aldridge, and Clare McDonald. The original Utopia was great, despite being scrapped after only two seasons and being followed by a distinctly average American remake created by Gillian Flynn.
Written by Dennis Kelly and John Donnelly, the original Utopia was heavily stylized and uniquely so. Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill displayed an almost similar approach to violence, color, and character design. A graphic novel that some believed predicted the future was at the heart of the conspiracy in the show, with government officials and secretive individuals after it. Utopia's...

Did Quentin Tarantino disown Natural Born Killers? (Photo Credit – Facebook/Prime Video)
Quentin Tarantino, one of the biggest names behind the camera in all of Hollywood, is as famous for his directorial masterpieces like Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds as for movies that never saw the light of day as originally envisioned. Recently, Tarantino’s proposed final hurrah, The Movie Critic, joined the caliber of projects that never materialized.
In his formative years, the Reservoir Dogs director had to settle for selling his screenplays to studios and other directors, such as True Romance, which Tony Scott directed. However, this Christian Slater–Patricia Arquette movie — also featuring future Tarantino collaborator Brad Pitt — isn’t even the filmmaker’s most popular runaway couple tale; an honor that belongs to Natural Born Killers, albeit for all the wrong reasons, which even led Tarantino, who originally conceived it, to disown the movie.

Donnie Yen was incredible as the blind assassin Caine in Keanu Reeves’ fourth John Wick film. He even landed a spin-off movie for his character, announced by Lionsgate last year. His filming experience in John Wick 4 was far safer, considering that he sustained some serious injuries during his stunt in other films.

The Princess of the Black Throne is finally returning to the ring. It’s been eight months since Julia Hart last graced the squared circle on All Elite Wrestling (Aew), having dropped her TBS championship to Willow Nightingale back in April before disappearing from TV to undergo shoulder surgery.
Hart makes her much-anticipated return to in-ring action against Jamie Hayter at “Aew Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen,” which will be simulcast on TBS and Max on Wednesday, Jan. 1.
“That adrenaline rush is what I miss most from being gone for eight months. I could literally feel it through my legs I was so excited. I was trying not to shake,” said Hart, who heralded her return to Aew TV with a trilogy of introspective vignettes featuring warring versions of Hart’s past and present personas.

Keanu Reeves may be one of the most beloved movie stars currently working, beloved more for his real-life personality and well-documented generosity than he is for his range as an actor. Reeves has a talent for playing taciturn action heroes and comic foils but tends to flounder when asked to play richer, more sophisticated characters. Compare his hilarious turn in "Always Be My Maybe," or his impressive physical performances in the "John Wick" movies to, say, "Bram Stoker's Dracula" wherein he struggles to keep his British accent.
Moreso than his acting, though, Reeves seems to be loved for being a fathomlessly decent human being. He runs his own leukemia charity. When he caught people trespassing on his property, he invited them in for drinks. He famously gives expensive gifts to the crewmates on many of his movies, like Rolex watches for the "John Wick" crew, or motorcycles for the stunt...

Denis Villeneuve’s Dune was a breath of fresh air and a perfect cinematic adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi saga. Dune 2 was even more promising with high-stakes political drama and betrayals. Viewers crave more of the story and can’t wait to see how Paul Atreides will evolve.

However, Villeneuve’s bold comparison to Michael Corleone, one of the most tragic anti-hero characters, is a little concerning. So, let’s see why the director finds his main character similar to the one in The Godfather, and what’s so worrisome about it.

Known for his provocative and controversial style, Quentin Tarantino has never shied away from exploring dark, violent, and uncomfortable themes in films like Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs. And it was during the latter that he remained firm about his storytelling approach, even when the disgraced industry mogul Harvey Weinstein warned him about a particular scene.

Some stories are worth telling, and some… well, they’re meant to be told in a way that sparks fire, controversy, and, quite frankly, a bit of a stir. But why does art sometimes paint a picture of our heroes that doesn’t quite match our own cherished view? Quentin Tarantino, a maestro of bold storytelling and cinematic flair, has often danced on the razor’s edge of controversy, and his portrayal of martial arts legend Bruce Lee in Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood offers no exception.

Mobile phones were created to make our lives easier but somehow, we have become slaves to them. Filmmaker Denis Villeneuve agrees. As one of the hottest directors right now, he has certain rules he expects his cast and crew members to follow and there is one rule he absolutely swears by – ‘Say No to Cell Phones.’ As far as he is concerned, distractions like scrolling through social media undermine the focus required to deliver a masterpiece. He made the Dune films; he knows what he is talking about!

She experienced even more fame thanks to her starring role in Quentin Tarantino’s two-part martial arts action film Kill Bill in the early 2000s. Shortly before the film revitalized her career, Thurman went through a messy divorce.

To be honest, all we imagine as light shone brightly on the ladies this year. Sisterhood ruled in Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light , Kiran Rao’s Laapata Ladies and at year-end in Shuchi Talati’s Girls Will Be Girls.

Saturday Night Live spoiled its audience with a cameo-packed episode hosted by Martin Short to close out 2024. But if it wasn't for time restrictions, another big-name cameo would have been added to the list.
The cold open kicked things off by officially inducting Short into the Five Timers Club. Tom Hanks, Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Paul Rudd, John Mulaney, Emma Stone, Alec Baldwin, Scarlett Johansson, and Jimmy Fallon all showed up to start the show. Lorne Michaels and Dana Carvey also popped up later in the episode.
A cut-for-time sketch prevented actress Lucy Liu from officially making a cameo during the episode. But thankfully, Saturday Night Live added the sketch online for all to enjoy.
Martin Short stars as the Grinch in the Dr. Seuss parody. The scene stars pretty slow and is more impressive for the production value than any of the comedy.

The world is full of underrated zombie movies that you really need to see, and when one of them was made by Jim Jarmusch and features a laundry list of Hollywood's finest actors, there's no shame in being doubly intrigued. The movie in question is none other than the 2019 horror comedy "The Dead Don't Die," which is currently seeing plenty of success on Netflix. In fact, the decidedly un-seasonal film is sitting at a very respectable third position on the streaming platform's Top 10 daily most viewed movies as of December 22, 2024 (per FlixPatrol).
In many ways, "The Dead Don't Die" is a perfect movie for the streaming age. A decidedly off-kilter film with a slow pacing and thematic choices that made it difficult for audiences and critics to swallow (as evidenced by its 54 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes), it failed to set the box office ablaze during its original theatrical run.

Saturday Night Live‘s Christmas episode recreated a Christmas classic — with a twist (and a cameo by Lucy Liu).
In a cut-for-time sketch, host Martin Short transformed into the Grinch for a retelling of Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas. The story stayed on track until the Grinch, whose heart grew three sizes, went up the ladder to help Cindy Lou Who put a big star on top of Whoville’s Christmas tree.
However, he dropped it, and one gruesome accident led to another, with the Grinch inadvertently killing Cindy Lou’s parents, among others. Upset, she called upon her sister, Lucy Liu Who.
Channeling her character O-Ren Ishii from Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill, Liu pulled a sword and exacted revenge on the Grinch — Tarantino style.
In the end, the video is revealed as to be a trailer for “Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Grinch.” You can watch it above.

There's something satisfying when the opening scene of a movie sets the tone for the rest of the story, from horror films like The Shining, where the first couple of seconds showcase an expansive mountain landscape, to Star Trek, where the viewer experiences the quietness and vastness of space. From nature shots, and explosive car chase scenes, to tense and heated arguments, the first few seconds of a movie are the most important in getting viewers hooked.
While some movies can take a while to get into, there are some standout movies that people just want to fully immerse themselves in after only a few seconds. No matter how many times viewers have watched a movie, there are some horror movies with scary opening scenes that are terrifying to rewatch because the openers remind them of a true story.
