Let me tell you, the stuff we got to watch. But by far, the video that has left me the "Saltiest" with pun totally intended, was Milkshake.
First Problem - Maybe they called it a programming block because they knew it would be played during weekday mornings and most kids go to school. so the prospect of watching a preschool block during mornings sounds awesome, but it's really not.
Second Problem - Peppa Pig. Besides Barney and Dora, It's the most obvious bad show because it's only made to sell toys. Also, it's the only show who dominates the schedule.
Third problem - The unrealistic portrayal of birthday cards. The presenters love reading birthday cards. Like very obsessed with birthdays, dancing, and competitions. They're so fit they're trying but failing at acting like CBeebies' presenters and The Sunny Side Up Show's presenters. How many kids can actually relate to the presenters on Milkshake? NONE. On top of that, their attitudes are so reflective of the other presenters, who sing songs, wear polyester smiles...oh yeah, the Playschool presenters.
There's lots more, but i can't talk about all of it. To sum this one up, this was a bad memory for a lot of us kids who had to deal with fundamentalist upbringings. We look back on this and either laugh about how cheesy it was, or how much we felt like we were being brainwashed. Watch it if you like, but expect a lot of cringing.b
