A woman is found murdered in her apartment. The prime suspect is her ex-husband, who had just spent a few years in jail and can't come to terms with the divorce. But he has a perfect alibi. He is under electronic surveillance and was home at the time of the murder. Van Deun returns from sick leave and Dams has psychological problems after what happened to him at the end of last series.

A rich notary is found dead. He suffocated with a mouthful of money. Witse makes friends with the gardener and discovers that the notary lived a fast live which made him a lot of enemies. They also find a little book with complicated coded messages. Is the solution of the murder case enclosed in these messages?

A maniac killer commits more than one very bloody murder in one day. Witse and his team have to find the man quickly, but there doesn't seem to be a connection between the victims. In the meantime Wytinckx and Witse have a gigantic clash and Witse is restrained to the office. Are they able to stop the killer before he strikes again?

Theo tells Witse he killed his wife Liesbeth. It soon turns out she committed suicide and he's not to blame. When Annemie hears Liesbeth was in therapy with Vergauwen, she's startled. She knew a woman who filed charges against the man for sexual assault, but later withdrew it. Sam already thinks Vergauwen is a creep and Annemie also doesn't like him, but Witse knows him and knows Vergauwen is innocent. At first Witse wants to close the file, but when things slowly unravel he also wants to investigate further. This takes him to another clash with Wytinckx who takes him off the case. Now Witse certainly has to prove Liesbeth was murdered to get his job back.

A female librarian is killed in the city library after it was closed. But there is a witness: Bram, a blind boy. She tutored him there after hours. Sam and Witse try to get Bram to tell them valuable information about what he can remember, which might lead them to the perpetrator. The killer however learns that there was a witness and that it was Bram. Now he plans to take steps to silence this witness forever. In the mean time Witse is under investigation for insubordination. Eveline Dupont questions Romain and Sam, but they won't say anything negative about their chef. Rudy however is nervous and gets mixed up in his words.

An industrial, paralysed and bedridden after a brain haemorrhage, dies in his sleep. The doctor suspects a suspicious death and notifies Witse and his team. It turns out that the paralysed man had an overdose of rohypnol, which someone had given him. It soon shows that the man's family life was utterly dysfunctional. His wife cheated on him, his youngest son is a drug addict and his eldest son ruins the family business. Lies the reason for this murder inside the family or is there even more?

Marie Vandecasteele, daughter of a wealthy riding-school holder, is a very talented rider. She has a chance for a ticket to the European jumping championship for juniors. She only has two win two more selection matches. Her biggest rival is Veerle Dingemans, who gets a very strict training schedule from her father Rob, who is an employee at the riding-school. The first day of the selection match Marie performs very badly. A bit later she drives with her moped against a clearly visible van and dies. A sedative is found in her blood. The investigations lead to Rob Dingemans. When he is arrested someone shoots him, but in the panic it's not clear who shot him.

The case Rob Dingemans takes a strange turn. Witse gets convinced that the riding-school is just a front for a professional diamond smuggling operation. The criminals turn out to be very dangerous. In the mean time there is also the court case against Sam's brother Luc, who stands trial for accessory to murder. Sam is called as a character witness. She strongly pleads for her brother.
