During Easter, a mysterious man with no name besides the initials J.C., is brought in after being hit by a car while rescuing a woman and her daughter, who were also in an accident. The ICU's malfunctioning computer reads the birth year of J.C. as '0', he speaks in Afrikaans for unknown reasons and he has stigmata. The woman he rescued believes he is the incarnation of Jesus Christ.

Marilene treats a transsexual man who collapsed in a bar due to hemorrhaging caused by a poorly performed gender operation in Poland and comes under fire from a surgeon by not properly checking for necrosis. His ex-wife doesn't want their son to find out about his father's trans-sexuality, but has trouble hiding it from him.

Severely injured circus performer Arie Velzen is brought in after falling. A detective comes into the ICU, suspecting that the Arie's partner Joost, whom he had a conflict with, sabotaged his performance gear. The ICU staff know better- the man tried to commit suicide because his life insurance would help the circus pay for its huge debts- but can't say anything because Arie doesn't want them to tell his family, and the staff have to follow the rules of doctor/patient confidentiality.

Thijs, still struggling with his wife over taking a less demanding job at a hospital in Groningen, has mysterious dreams involving comatose patient Robert Box talking to him, and obsessively treats the man despite other doctors' disagreements. Patty suspects he is close to a burn-out, but Thijs refuses to listen. By the end of the day, Thijs decides to quit, appointing Patty as his successor in leading the ICU.
