According to Robert Englund, his Freddy make-up was so thick that he couldn't tell how hot it was from the fires during filming. When he got in to have his make-up removed, it had bonded itself to his face.
James Wan was originally going to direct this film, but was already commited to directing SAW (2004) and was too busy with other film projects.
As of 2024 the final film in which Robert Englund plays the role of Freddy Krueger.
Standing at 6'5" (1.96 meters) tall, Ken Kirzinger is the tallest actor to date to play Jason Voorhees.
This was the first Freddy movie not filmed in the United States, and the filmmakers had to search for a new house that would resemble the famous Freddy Krueger Elm Street house from the first seven "Nightmare" films.

Robert Shaye: At around twenty-nine minutes, Robert Shaye (Producer of all the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" movies) including this one, appears as "Principal Shaye", credited as L.E. Moko.
Kane Hodder: who played Jason in Friday the 13th: The New Blood (1988) to Jason X (2001), at Westin Hills, Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III (1990) is playing on TV, Kane Hodder was the stunt coordinator and stunt double for R.A. Mihailoff (Leatherface) for that movie.
