Paul Dano Is Riddler in The Batman
The Batman has found its Riddler. It's been revealed that Paul Dano has been cast as the famed foe of the Caped Crusader in the upcoming DC Comics adaptation. Dano will star alongside Robert Pattinson, who has been tapped to play the titular hero. This comes as casting has been moving along at a swift pace after the project spent years in development. Now, things are speeding down the tracks as Warner Bros. and writer/director Matt Reeves prep for production early next year.

According to several reports, Paul Dano has locked down the role of The Riddler. Previously, Jonah Hill, of Superbad and The Wolf of Wall Street fame, was being eyed by the studio for the part. Hill, for one, couldn't figure out if he was going to play Riddler or Penguin, who will also appear in the movie. Recently, talks broke down between Hill and the studio

The Batman Almost Had Seth Rogen as Penguin

  • MovieWeb
Casting has been heating up for The Batman as of late and we're learning an awful lot. The big story recently was that Jonah Hill is no longer in talks to star in the movie, and he was previously being eyed as a major villain, either Riddler or Penguin. Now, we've come to learn that one of his frequent collaborators, Seth Rogen, was also, at one point, in early talks to take on the role of Penguin. Though, things didn't pan out.

According to a new report, Seth Rogen was of interest for the role on the part of Warner Bros. and writer/director Matt Reeves. Initially, it was reported that no offer was made and that no talks actually took place. However, reporter Borys Kit later chimed in, adding some additional info and context to the situation. Here's what Kit had to say about it.

Secret Cinema Wraps UK ‘Casino Royale’ Run With More Than $10M ‘Box Office’

  • Deadline
UK event cinema specialist Secret Cinema saw record ‘box office’ and attendance on its latest production, Casino Royale.

According to the company, more than 120,000 customers attended the immersive event screening, which took in just over £8M ($10M) in ticket receipts.

The show transformed a 70,000 square foot warehouse in East London into a multi-layered set where audience members – who had been recruited pre-show as part of ‘Operation Wildcard’ – embarked on a mission including stunts and set pieces brought-to-life by a cast of actors, including parkour and freerunning choreographed by Sebastien Foucan, who played Mollaka in the film. The production included live music, poker, bars and culminated in a screening of the movie. Tickets cost between £49-£175 and there were up to five shows per week.

During the London event, which organizers said was their biggest yet, Secret Cinema announced its first international expansion into China, in collaboration with Smg Live. Smg

New York Film Review: ‘The Booksellers’

  • Variety
It’s never a surprise to learn that the Internet has upended a business, or an entire industry. But in the lovely and wistful documentary “The Booksellers,” we hear one telling illustration of how the online universe has revolutionized the world of vintage books, and it’s an object lesson so fraught with irony that it’s a little head-spinning.

Imagine that it was, say, the early ’90s, and you were a rare-book maven with an impassioned, if not obsessive-compulsive, desire to accumulate a complete collection of the works of Edith Wharton, all in first editions. How would you do it? You’d go to vintage bookstores, attend auctions, work with a dealer. You’d gather your first editions one by one, over time, and the slow and steady hunt would be part of the pleasure.

But in the world of online book selling, where everything is catalogued and digitized,

No Time to Die Will Tie-Up Skyfall & Spectre Loose Ends

No Time to Die Will Tie-Up Skyfall & Spectre Loose Ends
No Time to Die, otherwise known as James Bond 25, is going to tie up the events of the last two movies in the franchise, Skyfall and Spectre. This, according to star Naomie Harris, who plays Moneypenny alongside Daniel Craig's 007. For most franchise entries, noting that it will tie up the events of the previous two movies wouldn't be big news, but Bond isn't a typical case and, considering how little has been revealed about this entry in particular, this is certainly noteworthy.

Throughout the history of the Bond franchise, storylines have continued but, more often than not, the movies have been made to standalone. However, Daniel Craig's tenure has been heavily serialized, with Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace serving as more of a part 1 and part 2 of the same story. Now, thanks to a new interview with Namie Harris, it sounds like Skyfall, Spectre and No Time to Die

Well, former Bond Pierce Brosnan thinks it might be time to change all that, and make way for a female 007.

Most will know Eva Green for her role as Vespa Lynd in the first Daniel Craig 007 adventure Casino Royale, or perhaps her subsequent teamings with director Tim Burton for the likes of Dark Shadows, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children or even the more recent Dumbo, but the 39-year-old started her career in French theatre before embarking on her hugely successful film career. With Proxima, she returns predominantly to a feature using her native tongue, a largely absorbing character drama about an astronaut dealing with the pressures of life at home while, at the same time, working towards a career-defining, year-long trip to the International Space Station.

Green is Sarah, a single mother with a successful career – in space aeronautics no-less, who is in heavy training for a major work trip; one to outer space and a year-long stint on the Iss for a prep-exercise

These Pics Prove That Daniel Craig Has a License to Keep on Killin' It at Every Age

  • Popsugar
As excited as we are for Bond 25 to hit theaters on April 3, 2020, we almost wish the day would never come. Why, you ask? Because it's the last time that Daniel Craig and his searing blue eyes will be portraying sexy MI6 agent James Bond. Since taking over the role of 007 from Pierce Brosnan, Daniel has played the suave spy in 2006's Casino Royale, 2008's Quantum of Solace, 2012's Skyfall, and 2015's Spectre, but we're still not ready for the forthcoming Bond film to be his last. To ease our pain, we took a trip down memory lane to revisit Daniel Craig's sexiest moments, and damn, did he age like a fine wine.
