Family Plot

Although Alfred Hitchcock was working with Ernest Lehman on the script for a project titled The Short Night at the time of Hitch’s death, this light-hearted suspense thriller proved to be his final outing. In retrospect it’s not viewed as equal to his best efforts, but he was 77 when he made it and it’s actually a bit hipper than the preceding Topaz and Torn Curtain.

Disney’s Aladdin producer explains what Will Smith brought to the role of Genie

The producer on Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin, Dan Lin, was impressed by Will Smith’s interpretation of the Genie and how it differentiates from Robin Williams’ iconic performance in the animated film.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Lin spoke about the casting of Smith, and he couldn’t have been more pleased with the performance.

“I mean, we’re just so fortunate we got Will,” Lin said. “And it’s a role that is so complex because it requires singing and dancing, high expectations, it requires comedy, it requires drama. It really requires kind of the full skill set of an actor, and he pulled it off. And how he did that was he made it really personal. I think that’s the number one overarching theme that everyone brought the movie. They they made this movie by bringing their personality to it.

“And so Will Smith,

Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo Screens at Webster University May 3rd

“You shouldn’t keep souvenirs of a killing. You shouldn’t have been that sentimental.”

Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo screens at Webster University’s

Moore Auditorium (470 East Lockwood) Friday May 3rd at 7:30pm. A Facebook invite for the screening can be found Here.

Let’s state this right from the top: Vertigo is one of the greatest films ever made. It’s not simply hyperbole that notables such as Leonard Maltin and Martin Scorsese have called the film Hitchcock’s masterpiece. To paraphrase Scorsese, rarely have we seen the complexity of a man’s thoughts and feelings portrayed so beautifully and compellingly onscreen. Everything in Vertigo – from the costumes to the location scenery to the performances of its lead actors is quite simply, perfect. Hitchcock had long wanted to film a story in the City by the Bay, and with the French novel From Among The Dead, he had

Everything Will Smith Has Said So Far About Playing Aladdin's Iconic Genie
When the full teaser trailer for the live-action reboot of Aladdin made its surprise debut, the one thing that had everyone talking was Will Smith's first appearance as the Genie. Fans have been curious how the big, blue cartoon character would be translated to a live-action format, and while Smith's appearance met with some mixed reactions, Smith himself has talked at length about his feelings on taking on the responsibility of this legendary character.

The original Genie, as voiced by the inimitable Robin Williams, became an instant pop culture icon that has endured over the past two decades. It's an "often replicated, never duplicated" performance that could easily overshadow Smith's take on the character. But he wasn't fazed; instead, he told Entertainment Weekly that he took inspiration from Williams's methods, but not his literal performance.

"After I watched the movie a few times, I saw where Robin Williams infused
