I was invited to appear on the A&E special, America's Sweetheart and was delighted to be able to accept. I started out as a fan, over 40 years ago and felt my input on her career would be beneficial towards what A&E was preparing to present. There was both a lot of truth in the show and as is usually the case when a superstar is featured, more than enough hype. I was the guest who compared George Franconero with Vernon Presly, commenting: "If Elvis had a father like George, he'd probably be alive today." I believe the show presented a fairly accurate presentation of the life and career of Connie Francis. I was thrilled to be a part of it and have fond memories of the hospitality A&E bestowed upon my wife and I.
