MPAA Rated PG-13 for sexual content and some strong language

Sex & Nudity

  • Near the beginning of the film a woman talks about "shagging" with a man.
  • Two characters discuss having sex almost immediately after meeting, and it is said Peter that they did.
  • One character admits to cheating on another and having sex with another woman.
  • No Nudity (one woman is in the bathtub but you only see her arms, feet and above her shoulders. No Sex (except a flash back when two people are supposedly having sex), implied (not seen) sex. Mostly kissing in this romantic comedy film.
  • We hear Iris' voice-over narration about different types of love, including the kind that can be found just for the night (as we see separate footage of a man smiling at a young woman in a bar).
  • There is one scene with two characters in bed obviously immediately after sex and the woman is in her bra.
  • A lot of discussion between two characters about how their sex is meaningless.
  • Several kissing scenes between characters throughout.

Violence & Gore

  • Mad at Ethan for sleeping with someone else, Amanda twice throws a shoe at him. When he finally admits that he did sleep with that other woman, Amanda comes out and twice punches him in the face, sending him to the ground (played lightly).

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • One of the main characters drinks wine heavily straight from bottle.
  • Two characters who have both been drinking heavily have brandy together.
  • A lot of social drinking and drinking alone while upset.
  • A character pretends a spoon is a cigarette (although he says that smoking is bad). One man is said to be stoned. People drink alcohol regularly. Drunk is a regularly used term

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Is a romantic comedy, there are no frightening/intense scenes.
