"Transformers One" has released its first trailer, finally giving the public the peek that CinemaCon attendees got last week. Directed by Josh Cooley, the film looks to offer a breezy and colorful animated adventure akin to the "Spider-Verse" films.
Does the title "Transformers One" sound like a misnomer to you? Audiences have already been subjected to eight of these movies and they're infamously not good ("Bumblebee" is innocent and 1986's "The Transformers: The Movie" barely skirts by on nostalgia despite how cynical it was). Well, you see, the ninth "Transformers" movie will be going back to the beginning. Set on Cybertron, the home planet of the Robots in Disguise, the film is set before the Transformers got to Earth, before the Autobots and Decepticons went to war, and before Optimus Prime and Megatron had those names.

Netflix has revealed the first teaser trailer for Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, the next new animated dinosaur series within the Jurassic World / Jurassic Park franchise. Netflix has just dropped a teaser for its upcoming CG-animated series, ‘Jurassic World: Chaos Theory,’ and it’s creating quite a stir. Slated for release in 2024, this series is a direct sequel to the popular ‘Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’ and promises to bring back the dinosaur-filled excitement we’ve all been missing.
The teaser is action-packed. We see a helicopter chasing a T. Rex, hinting at the thrilling adventures to come. Fans of the franchise will be delighted to know that this series is going to explore what happens years after the original Jurassic World park closed. It’s like we’re entering a whole new era of dinosaur adventures.
The involvement of big names like Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, and Frank Marshall ensures that the series is in capable hands. Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley, the creative minds who brought us Camp Cretaceous, are back as showrunners for Chaos Theory.

The animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, set in the world of the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies, ran for five seasons and a total of forty-nine episodes (plus one special) on the Netflix streaming service. It wrapped up last year, but now a newly unveiled teaser trailer – you can watch it in the embed above – has revealed that the upcoming Netflix animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory is going to pick up after the events of Camp Cretaceous. Chaos Theory even features an older version of Camp Cretaceous character Darius Bowman!
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous told the story of dinosaur fanatic Darius Bowman, who was given the opportunity to visit Camp Cretaceous, an exclusive adventure dinosaur camp on Isla Nublar. Once there, Darius met five other teenagers—Ben, Yaz, Brooklynn, Kenji, and Sammy—who were also chosen for the once-in-a-lifetime experience. However, when the dinosaurs broke free from their habitats,...

It started like so many reality TV scandals do. Just after 7 a.m. on Monday morning, notorious gossip site TMZ alleged that Shannon Beador — star of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Orange County — had been arrested for drunkenly crashing her car then fleeing the scene.
The report alleged that Beador crashed into a stranger’s home while drunk, before driving her car and parking it elsewhere. When officers arrived, she had gotten out of the car and pretended she was walking her dog Archie (who was reportedly in the vehicle when it crashed). Unconvinced,...

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and it’s been a little while since I reviewed Dark, because the match amount and weekly length of the show was becoming very difficult to deal with as the rest of the usual wrestling shows were coming back and yada yada yada. In an effort to retain my sanity, I’m gonna start reviewing Aew Dark a bit differently. Since they just keep loading this show with squash matches, I’m going to stop reviewing this show per match and instead just make comments about the best performances of the wrestlers themselves. My apologies to those that want an individual match review per show, but I don’t wanna start to hate this show and reviewing a show that has a weekly card that is in excess of twenty or so matches…...

Hollywood mogul James Cameron says he would not like to change anything about his life.
"I don't think it's a good idea to change anything. If I were unhappy in my life, you might get a different answer," Cameron said when asked what would he change about his past.

"But I don't think we know enough about causality to be able to make a change because you could get a butterfly effect from the most innocent of changes -- the most obvious being to go and whack Hitler before he took over. But that wouldn't change human nature and leaders like that will always emerge. There are certain inevitabilities," he added.

Ethan Peck joined the Star Trek universe as the latest incarnation of Spock in Discovery season 2. Though he made a big impact with the fans, don’t expect to see him back in season 3, as the last time we saw the U.S.S. Discovery crew, they were shooting off 1,000 years into the future. Trek lovers are hoping, however, that CBS will give us a spinoff series to continue the adventures of Peck’s Spock, Anson Mount’s Captain Pike and Rebecca Romijn’s Number One (Una). And that’s something that Peck himself would want, too.
The actor attended the Trekonderoga convention in Ticonderoga, New York over the weekend and was asked about the difficulty in wearing the Vulcan make-up. Peck discussed that it’s not particularly comfy, though the ears actually are. He then went on to talk about the prosthetic “eyebrow blockers” he has to wear and,...

Star Trek: Discovery season 2 ended with the crew of the Starfleet vessel disappearing through a wormhole into the far future, but fans aren’t quite ready to leave the pre-tos era of the Star Trek timeline behind. Anson Mount’s Captain Pike, Ethan Peck’s Spock and Rebecca Romijn’s Number One all became firm favorites thanks to their roles on the CBS All Access show’s sophomore run, with many campaigning for a spinoff.
We still haven’t had any word on that yet, but it looks like we’re getting more from at least two out of three of the trio. The evidence is pointing to Spock and Number One receiving their own Short Trek episode in the next season of the anthology mini-series. We know this thanks to an Instagram post from director Mark Pellington. Earlier this month, Pellington shared a shot of a clapperboard revealing that...

I’ve mentioned it previously, but I wasn’t the biggest fan of the original Life is Strange. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good game and I recommend it if you like story-based games, but it has flaws that were hard to overlook. That said, there’s no denying that was a charm to the story which this graphic novel hopes to recapture. Does it succeed?

Hey, "NCIS: New Orleans" fans. We hope you guys enjoyed tonight's episode 21. Now that it's officially over and in the history books, it's time to take a look at what the next, new episode 22 is going to throw at you guys. Once again, we've got a press release for episode 22 from the good ole folks over at CBS. This week, it provides a very, very short teaser description. That's what we'll be using for this spoiler session. To get things started, the CBS press release revealed that episode 22 is officially titled, "Chaos Theory." After skimming over the description for this episode, that title definitely makes sense. I'm quite sure this episode is going to feature a ton of chaos and drama because a very deadly bombing is going to take place at a museum. What's really tragic is that over 1,000 innocent people will be in attendance at this museum!

You may have seen Jurassic Park a dozen times, but there are details that might be easy to miss. Details like these...
Last year, visual effects artist Todd Vaziri took to Twitter to shatter the illusions of Jurassic Park fans everywhere. "When people watch this 24-year old mega-blockbuster," he tweeted, "they point and laugh at the totally obvious disappearing raptor on each viewing, ya?"
What, Todd? The what!?
Alongside this tweet, Vaziri also posted a slowed down Gif of the moment in question and, yep, there it is. During the final set piece, in which the T-Rex (somehow silently) stomps into the Visitor's Center and gobbles up the velociraptors, one of the raptors disappears. Not eaten by the Rex, just gone. One frame, she's there, the next she's not, the following one she's there again. Magic! Disappearo, the Vanishing Velociraptor! Thanks for destroying years of happy memories,...

Last year it was announced that Timecop was getting a possible remake at Universal. The plan is start over for good and not have any involvement, connection to anything with the previous franchise, that includes Van Damme.
I, for one, love the original film, between Van Damme’s time traveling hero, Ron Silver’s corrupt politician and quite a few roundhouse kicks delivered. It is easily the best of Van Damme’s films. Made in 1994, the film followed Max Walker (Van Damme), a U.S. Federal agent in the late 1990s and early 2000s, when time travel is possible and he stumbles on a conspiracy that involves a rogue politician while dealing with the loss of his wife. The story follows an interconnected web of episodes in Walker’s life (or perhaps lives) as he fights time-travel crime and investigates the politician’s unusually successful career.
So why a reimagining?...

The new Australian film Red Dog will have its world premiere at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival, held February 10 to 21, having been selected to screen in competition as part of Generation 14plus. Adapted by Daniel Taplitz (Chaos Theory) from the novel by Louis De Bernieres (Captain Corelli's Mandolin), Red Dog tells the story of a spirited kelpie who roamed the West Australian outback in the seventies and eighties and unites a mining community along the way.

Hey gang! Check out this awesome new sci-fi short film created by aspiring filmmaker, Patrick Kalyn. The film is called Somnolence, and Kalyn just finished production on it.
According to /Film, "Kalyn is an Emmy nominated visual effects animator, who has worked on films such as Avatar, District 9, I, Robot, King Kong, X-Men: The Last Stand, 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Jumper, The Water Horse, and television series like Stargate Sg-1. Filmed for $10,000 in 2 days in Vancouver, BC using Red Cameras, the short is part of a larger story that Kalyn hopes to develop into a feature film (a treatment is written)... Sound design was done at Skywalker sound, and the score has been created by video game composer Jesper Kyd (Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Hitman, Robotech: Invasion, Assassin’s Creed)."

Director Shawn French and I hit it off from the start. They guy writes, directs and even acts and his current film The Wrong House keeps building momentum and fan base. The Maine-based filmmaker took what was a personal tragedy and invasion and poured it into this future cult hit and the experience is as real as it gets. Check out my latest "Versus" with the very cool Shawn French to see what the life of a Maine-based filmmaker is like.
Brian S- Shawn, first off how did you get into filmmaking?
Shawn French- I’ve been writing scripts since I was a teenager, but growing up in Maine where there wasn’t a film industry, it always sort of stopped there. But I knew I had a good feel for it, because the stories I wrote kept popping up in Hollywood films. In 1990, I wrote a script about...

If Jeff Goldblum has taught us nothing else (besides the Chaos Theory of water droplets), he’s at least taught us not to underestimate the automatic hilarity that comes with playing videos at half speed. That said, improving upon Judge Judy toilet disputes seems impossible — like trying to improve upon Citizen Kane Coca-Cola — but sure enough, here’s Judge Judy at half speed, and boy, do I judge it entertaining: (Thanks, Rebecca E!)...

I have been saving this pitch article for quite some time, only to bring it out now. Why, you ask? Well…now is good a time as any, right? The other day on the Eo Podcast, Mr. Goodman talked about watching Jurassic Park for the first time almost 17 years after the fact. Nobody can deny that this ’93 film from Spielberg still holds up now, from its acting to its thrilling take of real dinosaurs in modern day.
After that film, original book author Michael Crichton wrote a sequel called The Lost World: Jurassic Park, prompting Spielberg and the studio to do another film, too. Unfortunately, Crichton’s novel merely served as a starting point for the finished product the film became, both of which are two completely different animals. I prefer the novel because it’s twice as thrilling as the first book and the characters are a lot more interesting.

Nintendo announced quite a good number of titles for the 3Ds at their press conference, many of which were quite surprising.
One would expect that a new handheld would receive the standard treatment – a new Mario Kart, a new Mario platformer, etc. But the 3Ds seems to be venturing into new territory, which looks to be surprisingly close to the PSP’s – mainly thanks to third-party developers.
From Super Street Fighter IV 3D, to Saint’s Row: Drive By, and even a Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory remake, it looks like Nintendo’s new 3D handheld is accommodating the slightly older gamer a little more nicely.
Even though many games were announced at the press conference, even more titles surfaced throughout the day, many of which happen to be remakes of classic Nintendo 64 games.
Here’s the full list as it stands so far:

Having directed edgy Aussie films like 2005's The Illustrated Family Doctor and 2007's Boxing Day, Kriv Stenders' latest is something a little different. Based on the renowned true story of Western Australian kelpie-cross ‘Red' and later adapted by British author Louis de Bernieres, Red Dog is the heartwarming story of an extraordinary dog, and the ordinary people whose lives he touches, uniting a mining community in the 1970s and ‘80s. Adapted from Bernieres' 1998 novel with a screenplay by Daniel Taplitz (Chaos Theory), the film follows the travels and exploits of Red, the vagabond dog who hitchhiked his way across Western Australia.

The latest “Behind Closed Doors” development diary from the Splinter Cell: Conviction team discusses the visual aesthetics of Conviction, including the projected text displaying your objectives, and Ubisoft Montreal’s goal to maintain the graphical benchmark that previous Splinter Cell games (like Chaos Theory) have set. The hidden loading is also something of note because maintaining as much control as possible in a game (not just Splinter Cell) is a large part of the enjoyability, I think. The game has gone gold, so here’s hoping Ubisoft is happy with the product they’re going to deliver to the many fans of Sam Fisher.
I’m interested to see how many different interrogation sequences there are going to be, because I enjoyed the one included with the demo and the one shown at Tgs last year. The entire game looks like it’s shaping up to giving the Splinter Cell...

Still confused why global warming warners stick to their guns even when it only seems to be getting colder in your own backyard? Chaos theory dictates that we're all likely to get cold for awhile before this lovely space rock burns up. But disbelieving ethnocentrists should click over to The Climate Wizard. It doesn't get simpler than this.
The Climate Wizard is an interactive map just launched by the Nature Conservancy in tandem with University of Washington and University of Southern Mississippi. They've combined terabytes of data on climate and emissions patterns to show how temperatures have been steadily creeping up over the last 50 years here in the good ol' U.S. of A. (You can check out other regions for comparison, too.)
It is also a sort of choose-your-own-enlightenment prediction model for what happens if we keep ignoring that inconvenient truth. There are 30 different End Times models built off...

Across the World this winter is biting hard--harder than it has been for years. And with a new cold snap threatening much of the U.S, it looks like it's going to get chillier. But don't you go thinking Global Warming is rubbish.
That's the message from scientists who are keen to dispel some of the public misunderstanding on the matter. This is a misunderstanding which stems from what the average Joe would call a common sense argument: "If it's such a cold Winter, how come you guys are scared the Earth's warming up?" The problem, of course, is that there's no such thing as common sense, and the poor logic of this argument is in collision with some very hard-won scientific facts.
And it's also about a misunderstanding on the difference between climate and weather. The fact that man is influencing the climate to warm it up is now pretty much beyond question,...

It’s time to get the real party started. I’ve whittled down what I prefer to think of as the “critical darlings” of my top ten best scores of the past decade. From this point on, it’s all subjective. The next three scores are personal favorites that I feel are real standouts from the hordes of disappointingly functional soundtracks I’ve witnessed. Before I continue, let me clarify a few things. I chose these scores (and this is so for the previous picks) not just because they suited their respective films; this they did well. I am highlighting them because they are also, standalone, great music that isn’t content to merely assist the visual action. At times, these soundtracks may even overwhelm the film itself, though this is a rarity. I love them because it’s not until you hear them outside their natural habitat that you realize how phenomenal they are.

Here comes round no. 3 of favorite episodes. My esteemed colleagues Rick and Hanh have picked their favorites and they each took considerable time preparing their list. I laughed at that -- until I sat down to do mine and it became a four-days-long project.
Here were my personal parameters for the list: 1. Each show could only have one episode on the list. 2. I would not repeat my colleagues' choices, which was particularly hard with "Buffy" and "Veronica Mars," as my top picks have been spoken for. 3. A two-parter counts as one slot on my list. My list, my rules. 4. There was a limit of 10.
Why a limit? Because my initial list had 22 entries and I realized I was basically just listing my favorite shows and then picking good episodes. I had to be more disciplined! The 12 I took off (for a variety of reasons) became "honorable mentions" of a sort.

"Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory" had some fantastic multiplayer modes, and it looks like "Splinter Cell: Conviction" will be taking a nod from that game in terms of the co-op. Ubisoft has released info on the mode, as well as a trailer, and it is looking decidedly excellent.
The co-op campaign in "Conviction" will take place before the events of the main game, placing two players in control of two spies, one American and one Russian. Since they're both spies you're probably not going to fare too well charging into a room, guns blazing (though the trailer does feature exactly that). If it's anything like the co-op in "Chaos Theory," you'll have to use stealth and diversion techniques to get the drop on enemies.
Ubisoft has said that the co-op campaign lasts about 3 hours, but I'm sure there's plenty of replay in that, with higher difficulties and such. Plus, there's always the potential for Dlc.

We reported just yesterday morning that Marvel is preparing to shoot their next big comic book film Thor in January, with director Kenneth Branagh now ready to get the story of gods and warriors from another dimension underway. And with that has come a few last minute casting decisions. Per a Variety article that has mysteriously disappeared off their site since it posted about an hour ago, Marvel has signed Stuart Townsend, Ray Stevenson and Tadanobu Asano to play The Warriors Three, a trio of Asgardian adventurers who fight alongside the Norse god Thor, who will be played by Chris Hemsworth (Star Trek). Stuart Townsend, who recently wrote and directed the excellent political drama Battle in Seattle, which starred his fiancee Charlize Theron, is best known for playing the vampire Lestat in Queen of the Damned and starring alongside Ryan Reynolds in Chaos Theory. He is also a frequent voice cast contributor to Robot Chicken. Ray Stevenson...

It was a dark and stormy night at Seattle Grace and the ER was slammed with mass casualties from a hotel fire. After a patient with minimal injuries died, the Chief gathered the doctors, heard their sides of the story and fired the person responsible for the fatal error. The multiple-perspective whodunit tale probably gave the continuity person an ulcer, but the storytelling style was a fresh device for the hospital drama, a treat for fans and good material to court an Emmy next fall. When Interval Research Corporation opened its Silicon Valley offices in 1992, everyone involved was certain of one thing: this would be the single-most innovative company ever created. How could it not be? Interval was the brainchild of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and David Liddle, formerly of Xerox Parc. Allen and Liddle had gathered a team that included the inventor of the inkjet printer, the first person to make music on a computer, and even the creator of Chaos Theory. They even had a parapsychologist (that's right, a ghostbuster).
Allen gave Interval Research an audacious challenge. The company was given $100 million and 10 years to spend it. As insiders describe it, Interval wasn't expected to even launch anything in its first five years and didn't need to generate any profits for the first seven. Allen was apparently willing to hold his breath for a decade if the experiment would result in multiple, massive technological revolutions.

While the big names above the title might suggest an a high-octane cops and robbers caper with intelligent plotting and pounding action, you would do well not to be fooled. Shot on the down slope of Wesley Snipes’s career, prior to the upswing of Jason Statham’s, and well into the wilderness of Ryan Phillippe’s, this shockingly lackluster thriller from writer/director Tony Giglio (the man who brought us Soccer Dog) is plodding, predictable, and oh so very boring.
The timing of this project is likely crucial to its blundering inability to resonate on pretty much any level as an engaging thriller. Snipes was neck deep in a legal dispute with New Line (the IRS was still to come) over the debacle that was Blade: Trinity, Phillippe’s marriage to Reese Witherspoon was imploding (the couple would file for divorce a year later), and Statham, who had yet...
