"Black Nemesis" was the lone episode not directed by Curt Siodmak, with actor Jason Lindsey (from both "Green Are the Leaves" and "Murder in the Mirror") doing the honors, utilizing the same cast as "Never Steal a Warlock's Wife," from a script by Ib J. Melchior, whose feature films include "The Angry Red Planet," "Reptilicus," "Journey to the Seventh Planet," "The Time Travelers," and "Robinson Crusoe on Mars." Phony spiritualist Monsieur Charles Aramit (Robert Kanter) doubles as a rotten gambler, in debt to gangster Bernie Hawkins (Ben Bennett) but unable to pay. In the short time he has left he works on his most gullible patron, Hilda Victoria Gardiner (Doreen Denning, also seen in "A Gift of Murder" and "Murder in the Mirror"), a close friend of disbelieving Claire Elizabeth Standish (Lorri Scott, also seen in "Never Steal a Warlock's Wife" and "The Secret of the Telescope"), married to the eminent neurosurgeon Robert Everett Standish (Sydney Coulson, also seen in "Never Steal a Warlock's Wife" and "The Secret of the Telescope"). Only a wealthy widow can save Aramit from certain doom, so he lures the doctor out of his house late at night and runs him down, building up his tricks to entice the widow to call on him for an urgent message from beyond. All ends predictably, with neither logic or satisfaction. Two actors credited but not in evidence are Alan Blair and Hilda Bruce Potter, both seen in "Never Steal a Warlock's Wife" and "Fever."
