Tinker Tailor goes to Jersey but spymaster Colonel Measures has nothing to smiley about.
Gregori is a Soviet agent who has been using his sex appeal to pump information from middle aged civil servant Margaret Semple. She should be called simple if she is deluded enough to think Gregori really loves her.
Gregori tells her that she has been found out as a Soviet spy and he tells her to go to Jersey and eventually they will be together in Russia. Gregori has no plans to leave with her and over time she becomes a liability.
In Jersey she is pursued by the local police and Colonel Measures is far from pleased that they cannot apprehend one woman.
At least Bergerac eventually makes Colonel Measures happy. His ex father in law Charlie Hungerford served with Measures in the army and at least he has a decent drinks cabinet. No half measures from Charlie.
