Vigilantes
15 February 2019 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

Some people in the Virginia City region are angry at the amount of cattle rustling that's going on and have formed a vigilance committee. The show opens up with a group of these hooded night riders executing a young couple. Unfortunately for them they are seen by two people. One of them is the brother of the deceased husband and the other is Hoss Cartwright who sees a group of men riding and they could be the night riders. But one of them Hoss's friend Charles Aidman and the two are rivals for 40s child star Peggy Ann Garner.

Dan Blocker does some of his best acting in the series as a man who is torn between loyalty to his friend and wanting to be a good citizen. Garner is in this equation in a way that even she doesn't figure.

Very nice story with good guest star turns from Garner and Aidman.
