Ma Clavin say's she can finally move to Florida, now that she has sold the house, for a large sum of money, to which Cliff replies, "Florida, who would ever want to live in that stink-hole?" However, years prior, Cliff could not stop talking about Florida, after his vacation there.
In the previous/first appearance of Ma Clavin in Money Dearest (1986), Cliff set her up with millionaire Duncan Fitzgerald, hoping they would marry and he would become rich. Instead, she convinced Fitzgerald to give the bulk of his fortune to charity. Now, on being given a generous buyout offer on their home she leaps at the chance, as she laments "last night I was poor", and is now enamored with the wealth and opportunity selling their house offers.
