Dick Cavett stops by the bar for a drink. Diane can't help but monopolize his time with readings of her poetry, that is until Sam pulls her away from him. Dick recognizes Sam and suggests to him that there may be some public interest in his memoirs. Diane is hurt by this as she sees herself as the writer, not Sam. So Sam enlists her help in writing his memoirs. Unfortunately, Dick and his publisher don't see the material as being quite right for them, but perhaps another publisher might if the story is spiced up a little. Sam and Diane, aka Jessica Simpson Bourget (her nom de plum), get to work on turning it into a steamy hot story. Meanwhile, Norm, still separated from Vera, is living at the bar. An old high school friend and wrestling teammate, Wally, recognizes "Moonglow Peterson" in the bar. Wally is an old rival for Vera's affections and goes after her much to Norm's consternation. Norm and Wally ultimately get into what is supposed to be a wrestling match for the hand of Vera. Written by Huggo

Dick Cavett shows up at Cheers while in Boston. Diane reads poetry to him until Sam pulls her away. When Cavett realizes that Sam is an interesting figure, he suggests he write down a few things about his life. Diane is so jealous but agrees to ghost write for him. The more interesting set of events involves a former high school classmate of Norm's who is setting his sights on Vera, now that Norm is out of the picture. This leads to a hilarious conclusion.
