- TriviaWhen examining a hand X-Ray Carter and Del Amico discover they were taught different names for some of the bones of the hand and wrist. Carter called one bone the multangular, Del Amico called it the trapezium; Carter called another the navicular and Del Amico called it the scaphoid. Neither are wrong, bones can often have more than one name, typically they have a Latin name and an English (or the equivalent in another language). It is unusual that neither of them knew both names, as medical schools often teach both the common name and Latin name, as using the Latin name when talking to doctors from other countries helps avoid confusion.
- GoofsIn S4 E2: Something New, George Henry can be seen wearing latex gloves with no issue. But in this episode, he goes into anaphylactic shock from wearing latex gloves.
- Quotes
Nurse Carol Hathaway: Cynthia, did you give this man permission to bring in all these people?
Cynthia Hooper: Well, the clinic's open. I figured that it would be okay.
Nurse Carol Hathaway: Are you a complete idiot? Can't you see we're swamped already?
Cynthia Hooper: I'm really sorry, I...
Dr. Mark Greene: [Stepping in] What's going on?
Nurse Carol Hathaway: Oh, she invited the entire Hazelton shelter for free physicals.
Dr. Mark Greene: Carol, can I talk to you.
[Leading Carol to the front desk]
Dr. Mark Greene: So there was miscommunication. If you have a problem with Cynthia or any other employee in the future, have the courtesy to speak to them privately. Don't dress them down in front of the entire ER.
Nurse Carol Hathaway: Anything else?
Dr. Mark Greene: No.
- ConnectionsReferenced in ER: Sharp Relief (1998)
This show has so many characters that I truly dislike, Benton and Romano are #s 1 & 1A. They seem to go out of their way to be A#1 creeps!
