Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • A man is hit with a bottle of gin, leaving him cross-eyed. He and the man hitting him smile for comical effect, though.
  • A man is hit with an empty plastic cup, at the hands of a frustrated man throwing it away without looking, when fixing a shower.
  • A man with a bicycle (not on it) is forced off the road and into a lawn edge by a man driving a small bus, causing the first to jump away with his bicycle and hurt himself.
  • A man crashes his bicycle 'into' the noble parts of another man.
  • No blood at all, yet some aggressive behavior is displayed by some characters.

Profanity

  • One damn. By the "Oscar" character (in Dutch, "miljaarde").

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A man sees alcohol as a way out when it is mentioned on the radio by his boss that he is in danger of losing his job. He is seen drinking gin after that.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A husband and wife have a fight. It is rather fierce and takes place in front of a full pub. They are pub owners. Their daughter has to watch it all. She is requested by her parents not to interfere with them. At this point the daughter is unprotected and sees it happen with sorrow. Should be taken with a grain of salt in terms of comical exaggeration.
  • A straight married couple's separation gets explicitly conveyed with the two characters arguing without looking at anyone (it happens for a crowded pub to see). A daughter character is involved.
  • The show has a tendency to seem tragicomical at this point, rather than purely comical. "Crisis" episode is exemplary of that. As a result, some scenes may look intense to younger viewers. The content is hard to understand for eg first or second graders.
  • Moderate.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A man reverts to alcohol after his wife leaves him.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A wife leaves her husband even though the decision is a deterrent to make her husband feel what he loses when she is not there anymore. They have a teenage daughter together, who is logically affected. She doesn't know how to react.
  • A woman feels insecure about leaving her husband, believing she is hurting him. This cannot be heard, but can be seen in the closing moments.
