Slow to start, but opens up well.

Captain Garland is all set to sail, and go in search of hidden treasure, funded by wealthy spinster Winifred Holland, but all is not as it seems.

I quite enjoyed this one, it's fair to say that the story is a bit of a stretch, it's almost verging on fantasy story telling, it seems to be the most incredible case of fraud that Gamble and Hicks have had to date.

I found this one quite hard to get into, but it's worth sticking with, because it does open up well, and is elevated by some very good acting. George Baker and Phyllida Law both do a cracking job.

I get the impression that ideas are starting to dry up a little, it's almost a pity that the two Detectives were limited to just cases of fraud, I do wish they'd have taken on a nice, grizzly murder.

Good story, well a decent story, but a good character story. Stick at it, it's ultimately rewarding, 7/10.
