City of Passion: Part 2

Los Angeles cop Detective Sergeant Rick Hunter (Fred Dryer) worries about the safety of Stacey (Lezlie Deane) an underage prostitute who reported a murder committed by a Satanic cult. She refused his offer of protective custody and has been pursued by the cult's henchman 'Scarface' (Hank Stone) across West Hollywood.

Hunter's partner Detective Sergeant Dee Dee McCall (Stepfanie Kramer) remains under a cloud after busting Superior Court Judge Warrick Unger (Robert Reed) for solicitation. He insists to TV news reporters that it was entrapment. She worries about HER reputation in the police community as Internal Affairs investigates her superior Commander Cain (Arthur Rosenberg) who tried to intimidate her and multiple others into quashing the charge against Unger.

The affluent and powerful Satanic cult continues it's ritual abuse of underage prostitutes. Serial rapist 'Bigfoot' (Frederick Coffin) remains on the prowl though McCall has figured out who he really is via solid police work and has units watching him. Police brass are perturbed by obstruction of justice allegations about Commander Cain but are even more perturbed about a $1 million lawsuit filed by the wife of priapismic LAPD Sgt. Brad Navarro (Erik Estrada). She claims they ruined her marriage to him by pairing him with attractive female cops.

This second installment, and middle stanza, of the 'City of Passion' storyline trilogy adapted by Dallas L.Barnes from his novel stands apart from most prime time series TV of the day in that for it to make sense the viewer needs to have seen part 1. TV series back in the 1980s and before it generally had story arcs that were tied up in one episode. At most there might be a two-part episode. A three-parter was unusual and bridge the gap between series and miniseries.
