Johnny Franklin, an old acquaintance of Wally's who is a year older than Wally, has been away at Bellport Military Academy for the past year. He is at home for the day and is coming to the Cleavers for a visit with Wally and Beaver. Wally and Beaver are enthralled with Johnny's uniform, his officious demeanor, and the stories he tells about life at Bellport, such as the presence of horses and guns. After Johnny asks Wally where he will be attending high school next year, Wally begins to think that Bellport might be a great option. June doesn't want Wally to go, but after she and Ward discuss it, they decide to look into Bellport and if Wally really wants to go, they won't stand in his way. Wally and Beaver are both really excited about the prospect until Eddie gets it into Wally's mind that Ward and June don't want him around anymore, hence the reason they "brought" Johnny over to talk to him. Will Wally tell his parents how he is now really feeling about Bellport despite his belief of what he thinks his parents want?
