I like the rocky settings that rivet the eye in these first two chapters of the Lone Ranger meets the Cavendish gang. Still, there can't be a LR without his mighty steed Silver. So here we learn how the masked man and his trusty mount meet up over a dead buffalo. It's real bonding at first sight. So now our heroic action team is complete, from Scout to Silver, and white man to Indian. Then too, shouldn't forget the Ranger's lesson on why he casts his bullets in silver metal. There's a moral lesson to this, clearly meant for his many youthful fans who may think he disregards the law. Also, I like the way Doc (Chesebro) injects some mildly humorous notes into the proceedings, a standard feature of matinee shoot-em-ups usually bought off by a wizened sidekick. Anyway, it's a fun episode if not taken too seriously, with flying fists, fast shooting, but no hard riding. So stay tuned for episode three of the LR versus the Cavendish gang.
