When the Strike Team raids the home of Two-Time, they drive by Dodger Stadium with lights on and a full parking lot. This would leave one to believe a game was in progress. Most night games in Major League Baseball begin around 7pm. Later at the hospital when Capt. Acaveda announces Officer Crowley's condition he says that at 1:30am a call for help was made from the spot of the shooting. It is very unlikely that the game lasted over 6 hours. It is just as unlikely that the Team just sat around the scene for a few hours before making the call in either. See more »

The pilot episode of The Shield focuses on Strike Team, led by Detective Vic Mackey (Michael Chiklis) in LA's fictional Farmington district.

Mackey's team goes in hard, rough and their questionable methods gets results. Captain David Aceveda, distrusts them and has plans to get the dirt on Mackey.

That is the arc of the show. The Strike Team is corrupt. These are dirty cops.

However the story of the week is a young girl has been abducted and the department manages to get a suspect but he is a cool customer. With time running out, Aceveda turns to Mackey's interrogation tactics.

An interesting premise of a unit that is out of control. It makes a change where television executives of cop shows in 2020 have admitted in light of another black man being killed by cops that has led to worldwide protests. That US cop dramas have been too pro police and overlooked the corruption side and its racism.

The Shield is an anti hero drama, unlike US network television shows the pilot has nudity and stronger violence. It also has a slick presentation.
