- SG1 travel to a planet where Teal'c is recognised as once having been head Jaffa to Apophis. He is arrested for the murder of a villager and put on trial for his life. Then other Jaffa attack the village. Will SG1 be able to save Teal'c and prove that he has changed allegiance?—Anonymous
- When SG-1 reaches a planet, Teal'c recognizes it as Carthage, a favorite 'human harvest' field for the Goa'uld. Alas, he is instantly recognized by villager Hanno as the (former) Jaffa who once killed his father in Apophis' service. According to Byrsa (Carthagian people) 'mandates' (customary law), Teal'c must go on trial: Cor-ai, and he refuses to flee as Jack meant. When Jack learns that even his appointed 'voice' (advocate), a girl, operates on the presumption of guilt, the team prefers to be co-counsels themselves, but custom dictates Hanno presides and determines the retributive punishment. Still, Teal'c refuses to plead not guilty or blame his commander; but Jack is determined to do so anyhow. Daniel tries to explain how Teal'c's rebellious conversion and his personal Sha're drama turned into friendship, then finds out about relevant details concerning the Jaffa manhunt methods, but it's still Hanno's call.—KGF Vissers
- On their latest foray to a new world, Teal'c realizes that he has been there before. It is a planet that the Goa'uld has visited regularly in the past and the locals have suffered greatly at their hands. When one of the villagers recognizes Teal'c as the man who killed his father, he insists that he be tried according to local custom, Cor-Ai. From what O'Neill and the others can deduce, Teal'c's guilt has already been decided so they take it on themselves to defend him. Teal'c however freely admits his guilt and their job is really to keep him from being executed. As Daniel learns more about the local culture, he thinks he may have an argument in Teal'c's favor but his accuser has the final authority over life and death. When the Goa'uld arrive in the village, Teal'c has the opportunity to prove his valor.—garykmcd
