This was comedian George Kirby's TV debut. He would appear the Ed Sullivan Show many times up until 1970. Among the things, he did in this show were impressions of James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, Edward G. Robinson, and Rochester from the Jack Benny Show. He also did a vocal skit of Amos 'n Andy playing different characters from the famous radio show. In 1983, George, who was a lifelong fan of Amos 'n Andy, hosted a documentary called "Amos 'n' Andy: Anatomy of a Controversy" which explored the history and the controversies around the show.
