This is a very interesting view of prison life!

I've always had mixed feelings about our justice system and whether or not there are benefits to institutionalizing prisoners. I've seen so many films which are one-sided on either the prisoner or the prison guard. I've never seen a film which was such an up close and personal view of the life of a prisoner but also with such honest views of the prisoner from the guard's standpoint. The guards in this film were so intelligent and in a sense felt they too were imprisoned. I was amazed how the prisoners opened up to the filmmakers. It really brought to the surface how the lack of state and federal funds negatively impacts any chance of the prisoners receiving necessary training and education to prepare for their release. I found myself caring so much about both sides, the prisoners and the guards!
