The Doctor is engaged!!!
25 August 2015 | by Sleepin_DragonSee all my reviews

Barbara interrupts the stage of the fight, Tlotoxl demands Barbara save Ian, she proves herself resourceful. Barbara seeks Autloc's backing against Tlotoxl, and attempts to stop a sacrifice which it to occur in 3 days time, under an eclipse. Tlotoxl decides to try poisoning Barbara, to see if she is indeed an immortal. Barbara shows her courage and challenges Tlotoxl, admitting in private who she is, Tlotoxl this times turns on Susan. Susan is the definite weak link in the chain, with virtually no knowledge of Aztec ways, and when she refuses marriage a punishment awaits. The Doctor and Ian discover a tunnel they believe leads to Yetaxa's tomb, but Ixta intervenes.

For those that moaned about Tennant's flirtations with Rose, check out Doctor number one with Cameca. Seems the romancing began right at the start. His face when she suggests marriage is priceless.

Susan has been hidden away for the majority of the serial thus far, but has a slightly more substantial role.

This is another excellent episode. Every few minutes one of the TARDIS crew are placed in real peril, it's been great to see a softer side from the Doctor, that could only have happened in these early episodes, how he changes as the series goes on. Brilliant.
