Cohen's Greatest Hits
Songs from the Life of Leonard Cohen (1988)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
This here is one of those compilations that used to be popular back in the day. It offers up interview footage with Loenard Cohen as well as music videos and live performances from his career. The songs included are:
First We Take Manhattan / Suzanne / Chelsea Hotel No. 2 / Take This Waltz / Hallelujah / Who By Fire / Bird On A Wire / Red River Valley / So Long, Marianne / Famous Blue / Raincoat / The Partisan / Joan Of Arc / Ain't No Cure For Love / Tower Of Song / Dance Me To The End Of Love
Obviously die-hard fans are going to know all of these songs so you might argue that this collection would be aimed more at your casual viewer or those unfamiliar with Cohen and are wanting to get a taste of his music. All of the songs here are basically what you would get an on Greatest Hits package so on that level this collection is obviously worth watching. The interview segments really aren't anything ground-breaking but they at least give you some insight into some of the songs.
