...if you catch my drift. A cheap-o affair shot in North Carolina, "Fall Down Dead" sports a terrible script, indifferent direction, and some of the lamest acting from a handful of recognizable names and a slew of unknowns that I've seen in a long time. Well, maybe not that long, but Udo "Mark of the Devil" Kier should be slapped for paycheck-taking, David "Kung-Fu" Carradine should be spinning in his grave, and Dominique "Lolita" Swain should realize she badly needs a new agent.

Have I wasted enough words? This is garbage, kiddies, plain and simple. Don't say you haven't been warned.

I just saw this movie yesterday...and as much as i hate the expression "this is the worst movie i ever saw", i can really use it this time with no remorse.

This movie contains horrible acting, horrible screenplay, lousy effects and the only "horror" thing about it is the idea that you paid to see it.

If this movie would've been presented as a parody, it would have had much more catch to the public, it actually reminded me about Scary Movie, only this was meant to be serious.

The plot holes (if you can call that a plot) also keep showing up, and the main target was Stefan Kerchek, the cop who showed up at the "crime scene" and proved to be useless. You can see he had a some pills with him when he arrived that he kept taking to...calm him down (more than 20 pills at first), after 10 minutes he has none left (but at the ending, in the ambulance, the pills are all back again. Then there is the "Kevlar jacket" thing...he gets shot, he bleeds from the stomach, but later when the criminal shoots him again (3 times) he doesn't die because he has Kevlar...where was the Kevlar 15 minutes earlier when he got shot?

Oh and there is so much more stupidity in the movie, i better not...ruin the surprise.

If you have a sense of humor, go see this movie, but you really must imagine you're watching a parody. I give it 2/10.

... truly terrible. Poor acting. Poor story. Unrealistic characters. I gave up about 3/4 of the way through the film. None of the characters seem to be like real people. None of them have realistic reactions to the situations that are thrown at them, therefore no suspense is created. The policeman who finds the janitor dead, then finds the cleaner and is more interested in chatting her up, than getting his gun out and protecting them. Why would the armed police lock themselves in the building, rather than getting outside and calling for help? How can the main female lead fight off the murderer, when he seems indestructible, later in the film? I'm truly surprised that a quality actor like Udo Kier stooped so low as to make this. This should have been straight to video - reduced bin. Don't bother.

Christie (Dominique Swain) leaves work to walk home on Christmas eve (didn't really factor in) and sees the Picasso Killer (Udo Kier) who has proved himself a nuisance for the city as he carves up women. Christie is let into the locked Hitchcock building. A couple of police show up and there are a few people working late.

They get trapped inside a building with the phone lines cut. They can't get out, but the killer can get in. No one owns a cell phone, maybe this was the 1990's judging by the computer, but I don't recall anything setting the date. And when trapped inside a building with a killer, the best thing to do for the motion picture is to divide up. We know who is the final girl and if you wonder where the title came from, wait.

They attempted to make the killer into something with a small amount of background, but they failed to give him a good screen personality.

Cliché. It feels like a satire to the genre at some moments, that's why it is also funny (like when Christie is frenetically knocking at the Hitchcock's door! I live for that scene haha). The make-up, ambiance, and actings are weak here.

FALL DOWN DEAD is a serial killer thriller made on a tiny budget which looks like that of a typical indie movie. The story is simplicity in itself, one of those single location films where a bunch of diverse characters are trapped in a building by a psychopath. This time around it's an office building with Udo Kier's sweaty murderer lurking around outside. Dominique Swain takes the lead and wonders what happened to her career, while David Carradine shows up as the world's oldest-looking security guard. The director throws in Hitchcock references and the like but not much of it sticks and it's all very derivative which makes it hard to get excited about.

Christmas Eve. Spunky single mother Christie Wallace (a sturdy and appealing performance by Dominique Swain) witnesses a brutal slaying in a back alley by The Picasso Killer (ably played with smooth menace by the ever-reliable Udo Kier), a vicious psycho with a nasty penchant for carving up beautiful young women. Christie and a small group of strangers find themselves trapped in an office building with the wacko following a citywide blackout. Director Jon Keeyes, working from a compact script by Roy Sallows, relates the compelling story at a snappy pace, builds a reasonable amount of tension, delivers a pleasing plenitude of grotesque bloody violence, draws the main characters with some depth, and tosses in some tasty gratuitous female nudity and a little soft-core sex for trashy good measure. The sound acting from the capable cast keeps the picture on track: Mehmet Gunsur as the burnt-out Detective Stefan Kercheck, R. Keith Davis as Kercheck's easygoing partner Detective Lawrence Kellog, Monica Dean as scared religious cleaning lady Helen Ritter, and Austin James as cowardly yuppie Michael Yaeger. David Carradine has a colorful and amusing secondary part as bumbling fuddy dud security guard Wade Douglas. But it's the always welcome and delightfully quirky presence of Kier as an extremely suave, relentless, and arrogant maniac who fancies himself as a kind of demented artist that makes this movie so much fun to watch; Udo's a real hoot as he calmly bumps folks off and serenely taunts Christie by promising to make her his greatest artistic masterpiece. Richard Clabaugh's glossy cinematography makes neat use of shadowy lighting. Pinar Toprak's rattling score hits the spirited shivery spot. A hugely enjoyable slasher thriller.

The synopsis is this:

In a big American city, the serial killer The Picasso Killer is terrorizing the dwellers and the police department does not have lead to find him. The bartender Christie Wallace dreams on moving to the countryside with her six year-old daughter Zoe to have a peaceful life far from the violence of the city. Late night of Christmas Eve, Christie leaves the Tides Bar where she works and walks back home. In an alley, she sees a woman dying covered on blood and The Picasso Killer sees Christie and chases her. She runs to a commercial building where the night watchman Wade is reluctant to open the door and does not give credit to Christie. She calls the police and Detectives Stefan Kerchek and Lawrence Kellog attend the call. When Christie tells that she can recognize the infamous serial-killer, there is a blackout, the phones are dead and the detectives cannot call the precinct. They lock the building waiting for reinforcement but sooner they find that The Picasso Killer has broken in the building and their lives are in danger.

The other night I could not get sleepy! No matter how many boring infomercials I watched or sedatives I took I just could not get my mind and eyes to the point of groggy. Luckily I pay a ridiculous price for cable and receive on demand as well for over exaggerated premium channels. The one upside to these little additives of life are the off chance that something I have not seen may cross by the screen. Well lo and behold finely after what seemed like hours of surfing I found something that intrigued me. "Fall Down Dead" – a movie about a serial killer who found artistic vision in carving and displaying beautiful women in an attempt to create his masterpiece and life's achievement.

I only recognized one person in this film- well two actually. David Carradine and Udo Kier. Now Udo is like awesome to me because he played my all time favorite vamp in Andy Warhol's "Dracula". I can still close my eyes and see him fall to the floor jerking and writhing while trying to lick up virgin blood from the floor of a french château.

This film – "Fall Down Dead" was actually pretty good. The characters were not exaggerated nor over written. Sometimes they can come off cartoonish or not so believable. David Carradine did somewhat but luckily his characters presence was short. The heroin played by Dominique Araine, who is a single mother living with her young daughter and a female roommate accidentally walks up on one of the Picasso Killers scenes while he is still doing his thing. He immediately sees her as the woman of his true inspiration and chases her into an office building during the city's rolling blackouts. She has it rough! First a bum she gives coffee too because it is Christmas Eve and she fills sorry for him tries to steal her purse after she gets off work then a serial killer takes a liking to her and hunts her down.

Now this would make a perfect Christmas film for future holidays because it does happen on Christmas Eve. Anyway, lady has to fight for her life because the killer gets into the building with her, two cops that were supposed to be on a drug bust but decided to call it a night when the call came in about a killing, the security guard played by Carradine-who is like the worlds oldest slacker rent a cop, and three employees of the buildings business.

So one by one the killer without much ado or dialog takes out the sheeple . The deaths are gory and in your face. The Picasso Killer is only artistic when it comes to his muses in this pic. The others just get slash-o-rama treatment familiar in any horror film. This film is a great slasher and serial killer style flick reminiscent of many 80's styled films like "New York Ripper". This film is a good thriller based film with descent acting and slasher styled gore so I say watch it and enjoy!
