Enter the.....Dinosaur.
George Taft had money stolen from his Hotel room, a retired Welsh Detective, and a chauvinistic oaf to boot. Tosh is left to deal with him.
A good script from writer Peter Hammond, he's written some very good stuff over the years, including some fine Torchwood, and some great episodes of Midsomer Murders.
George is dreadful, he really is a total dinosaur, but there is no arguing with the sheer brilliance of Glyn Houston, he is just wonderful, as loathsome as the character is, he's quite a personality.
CID is in chaos, I'm not sure it's because of the absence of Roach or Martella, but you get that impression that a col head is needed in there.
It's not one of the best stories, it doesn't actually have much of a content, but it does have some big characters.
Enjoyed it, 8/10.
