Chris Martin
2 October 2019 | by Prismark10See all my reviews

Chris Martin making an appeal for a charity and he wants to promote Coldplay's Greatest Hits album. He also ends up singing in a factory in Wigan. Andy knew it was a bad idea getting Chris Martin to pop up in his sitcom to promote his latest album. The critics agreed with him as they slate Andy's desperation.

Still Andy gets nominated for a BAFTA. It leads to humiliation as he gets publicly called out by an old flame, his agent brings along an Andy doll that does not stop making a noise. Worse Andy gets barred from all BAFTA events after being caught with Ronnie Corbett who was snorting cocaine.

The funniest bit was Barry from Eastenders shaking Andy's hand and then eating a muffin without touching it as he had been cleaning the toilets without gloves. You see I do like a bit of toilet humour! There is more of the toilet theme in this episode with Andy's encounter with Stephen Fry and Ronnie Corbett which is also in the toilets of the BAFTA ceremony.

Ricky Gervais adds a little touch about the dark side of showbizness that is a running theme in the second series. He can never resist the cringiness as well. Here he somehow agrees to buy Maggie an expensive dress, in a reverse take of Pretty Woman.
